THE AWKWARD SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT
After the dinner, Jack was happy to be free from the noisy women.
Lily was happy with the company, Rosa and her friends were an interesting bunch, they talked about their younger selves and how they were the queens of the town in their youth, how they were worshipped by the people, she felt the warmth and the strong bond between the three women.
Lily couldn't believe that she was sharing a bed with Jack. Well, not technically sharing a bed, as she was sleeping on one side of the bed while Jack lay on the other.
Lily was restless and couldn't keep still, "Jack we haven't agreed on this, why the hell are we sharing a room? There are so many rooms in this house, go and sleep somewhere else."
Jack rolled his eyes and yawned loudly, purposely annoying Lily, "don't know why you are bringing up this matter Lily, just go to sleep already." He said tiredly.
She rose from the bed, "Jack I am not comfortable about this, you can sleep on the couch? She asked giving him the puppy look.
Jack sighed, "Lily we are in my parent's house, it only makes sense if we sleep in the same room."
Lily had insisted that Jack sleep on the couch, but he had flat-out refused. He had said that he was perfectly fine with sharing the bed and it wasn't a big deal.
That had made Lily feel a bit awkward, but she didn't want to make a huge fuss about it. So, she tried to push Jack away from the bed, but he didn't budge. He just looked at her with an amused expression on his face.
"You can't deny it, Lily. Sleeping on the couch is not comfortable and you know it. So why don't we just share the bed like normal people?" Jack said, grinning at her.
Lily scowled and pushed him again, but Jack just laughed and moved closer to the bed. She knew he wasn't going to give up, and so she decided to make the best of a bad situation. She divided the bed with pillows and sheets, effectively creating a barrier between them.
"Happy now?" she asked, her voice laced with irritation.
Jack just shrugged and lay down on his side of the bed, not bothering to say anything. Lily sighed and lay down on her side of the bed, facing away from him. They both lay there in silence for some time, Lily trying her best to ignore the fact that a man was sleeping in the same bed as her who wasn't her boyfriend.
She couldn't help thinking that this was all a bit ridiculous. Why had she agreed to sign the contract in the first place? Sure, it had been fun at first, but now it just seemed like too much hassle. And sharing a bed with Jack was not her idea of a good time.
She tried to get comfortable, adjusting the pillows and sheets around her, but nothing seemed to work. She was acutely aware of Jack's presence on the other side of the bed, and she could feel his warmth radiating towards her. She tried to move away, but there wasn't much space to maneuver.
