EXPERIENCE WITH THE VOICELESS DOCTOR
Scorpion's eyes darted toward Jack, surprise momentarily replacing the malice that had been etched across his face. The knife wavered for a moment, its deadly intent faltering as Jack's cry disrupted Scorpion's focus.
Jack, unaware of the Scorpion's long-lasting beef with the Sanchezes. "Step away from him, Scorpion," Jack commanded, his voice steady but filled with an underlying urgency. He only wanted Vincent to suffer the pains Roberto suffered in the parking lot, not for him to die. The hatred Jack noticed in Scorpion's eyes, he knew Scorpion wanted to kill Vincent.
Vincent, his breaths shallow and slow, weakly groaning from the pain of the assault. He couldn't move his body even if he wanted to.
Scorpion, torn between his instincts to take revenge or to obey Jack as his master's son took a hesitant step back. The knife remained clutched in his trembling hand, but the intent to strike had visibly weakened.
