Chapter 2 - Prelude (ii)

I was floating.

As I drifted aimlessly, weightless in a vast expanse of nothingness, I found myself enveloped in a suffocating darkness that seemed to stretch out infinitely in all directions.

This was no ordinary darkness as it lacked any hint of illumination, and its opaque nature reflected no trace of light---a pitch black reflectionless void.

As I floated in this abyssal void, I felt the absence of even the faintest glimmer of light or any foreign movement.

The all-encompassing emptiness around me was an oppressive weight that seemed to bear down on my very being that could instill a sense of dread in an average human.

The farther I drifted into this darkness, the more I struggled to move the more I felt my mass, but I had no control over it. Like tied in the toughest of restraints, I couldn't move. The space around me seemed to be in a constant state of motion, as it churned and caved in and out repeatedly, like pushing me out.

And after a while, I could see it...

The faint glimmer of light tainted by red spotted stains. The streaks of this white light extended everywhere and the more I looked at it, the more I could feel my eyes sting---a stabbing sensation invading my eyes. I had no control over my own body. I could feel it moving forward. If I had to describe this feeling, it would be akin to feeling like a luggage on a conveyer belt as I travelled without a sense of direction.

All of a sudden, I could hear faint excited, ecstatic... even worried murmurs. It was muffled and I felt like underwater as most of the sound that I heard was the wet squishing of something around me.

"Wait... this is weird. There is one more."

"Huh? We weren't informed of that."

"Really?"

A plethora of voices invaded my ears. They were not comprehensible, but I could feel the same voice again---murmuring whatever was going on outside.

"Ma'am, please you have to push again."

Push? What was going on here?

The wet squelch around me increased followed by a heart-curdling scream of a woman as I felt my body move forward, again. The light at the end of this eerie tunnel increased and started to surround me from everywhere until it encased me completely. Feeling the burning sensation in my eyes, I closed them instantly, waiting for this to subside.

I felt a pair of hand beneath my back as I felt myself being picked up. But that wasn't a logical analogy of the situation. It shouldn't be possible. Groggily, I opened my eyes a veritable cornucopia of colours flooded my vision, causing me to squint and blink repeatedly in an attempt to make sense of the dazzling spectacle unfolding before me. Gradually, as my eyes acclimated to the colourful display, the scene came into focus.

My surroundings were awash in a vivid array of hues, ranging from the softest pastels to the most vibrant neons. Each individual color seemed to pulse and shimmer with a life of its own, imbuing the entire scene with a hypnotic energy. Despite my groggy state, I tried to stay calm and recover my vision so I can finally see and analyse my situation. Each mote of colour was carefully woven into every size---smaller and larger tapestry of shapes and patterns, forming an eerie tableau.

The vibrant display finally subsided and for the first time in a long while I was able to see a coherent object... or rather a person.

The first sight that reached my eyes was the sight of a woman, an uncanny amount of warmth radiating from her smile as she looked at me with an equal amount of love and surprise. Her luscious blonde hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, drawing attention to the delicate curve of her neck and the soft, pale skin that seemed to glow under the bright lighting of the room. But it was her eyes that truly mesmerized me - a bright, piercing shade of blue that seemed to sparkle with a life of their own. They shone like diamonds, captivating and intense---that was at once icy and inviting.

As I focused more on her, I couldn't help but notice at the way her curves seemed to flow like water, sculpted to perfection with an almost supernatural grace. Her breasts were large and full, practically spilling out of her form-fitting attire, her ample curves tuned to perfection. And yet, despite the radiating smile of her that truly set her apart, radiating from every pore in a way that made it impossible to look away.

I could feel a palpable attraction towards her. The feeling didn't step from me but instead from my body. It was a bit complicated to explain it but it was weird if put simply. It felt like someone had instilled a foreign feeling inside me and somehow it provided comfort. She brought me closer and I felt her plump lips press against my head and then against my cheek as she smiled at me again.

"Uaa, waaaa!"

A wave of confusion washed over me as I tried to talk but all that came out was gibberish whining and moaning. I tried to move my limbs but all that I was able to muster was weak flails of my hands.

Another figure came forward and stood in front of the woman. He was holding another little baby in his hands. Looking up I saw the baby with a few strands of brown hair on his head, exactly like the man that was holding him and a pair of striking green eyes. Despite being a newly born baby, there was a lecherous look over his face. I don't know if its possible but it seemed like he was a pervert who had his eye set on the woman who had held me until now.

The man had a masculine appearance with his tall and statuesque frame towering above most others in the room. His bulging biceps and broad shoulders spoke of his rigorous exercise regimen. The sinewy muscles rippling under his skin lent a powerful presence to his overall form. He seemed strong and disciplined.

His sandy light brown hair was a perfect complement to his sun-kissed complexion, lending a rugged charm to his otherwise chiseled features. A mole nestled near his left eye. He had piercing green eyes and despite having the look of a seasoned warrior in his eyes, his expression betrayed him as he had a soft look plastered over his features as he looked at me and then at the woman holding me.

"It's a surprise but a welcomed one," the man said as he looked at me and then at the other boy in his arms who looked at me and grinned.

Can babies grin?

"Welcome to the world, little Rudeus and Julian."

But more importantly, why am I baby? Did I just reincarnated?

Author's Note

Now that the prelude is outta the way, we can continue with deviations and proper plot. I want to make Kiyo adjust to his new life quickly and not be too apathetic like he was in my "Masterpiece" fic. He will be calculative but not too brutal.

You get that right? Anyways, hope you enjoy, and I am out.
