Chapter 20 - Decision to Leave

Here's a quote from a very famous scientist "You are the universe experiencing the universe in itself"

As everything in this world continues to undergo cycles of destruction and creation, the process is seemingly endless, and the duality of formation and destruction becomes obvious.

Imagine experiencing the most terrible day of your life, immersed in sorrow and despair.

What would be the initial thought that emerges in your mind? Let me guess; it would likely be a plea to a higher power, "Please, God, don't let this happen ever again in my life."

However, reality does not stick to our desires, for it exists beyond the scope of our understanding.

Perhaps we will never truly understand the enigmatic forces that loom above us, ceaselessly observing our every move. "Enlighten me on the current happenings," one might inquire.

Without a flicker of hesitation, he callously ends their lives, and I, frozen in disbelief, stand there, an idle witness to the horrific scene. However, a surge of adrenaline courses through me, compelling me to take action.

Swiftly, I apprehend him, binding his hands in cuffs, as he now faces the consequences of his heinous act—arrested for the murder of them all.

Curiously, Rudra appears willingly cooperative as I command him to kneel before me.

Remarkably, even without a weapon at hand, he makes no attempt to flee.

Strangely, there is an air of detachment about him, as if this were merely another task in his collection.

I warn him roughly not to utter a word or dare to escape, for I make it clear that I will not hesitate to use force.

Despite my firm instructions, his attitude remains unchanged.

He obediently follows my directives, seemingly unaffected by the gravity of the situation.

Deep down, I sense there is something extraordinary about this man—his behavior suggests an otherworldly presence.

His calm submissiveness confuses me further, knowing full well that he possesses the power to vanish into thin air at will.

It becomes clear that shouting or exerting control over him would prove futile; I find myself utterly powerless in the face of his enigmatic capabilities.

"The celestial body we recently heard about in the news is on a collision course with our planet," comes the response.

"Indeed, precisely so," acknowledges the individual, their thoughts still consumed by distress.

"Whatever disorder you are presently facing, be assured that there exists a purpose behind it," reassures the other.

"And what might that purpose be?" questions the troubled soul, yearning for understanding.

"The quandary lies in the fact that he can hear us, perhaps even at this very moment, silently monitoring our every word," explains the informant.

"Who, precisely, possesses such power of surveillance?" queries the distressed individual, intrigued yet baffled.

"Ashur," utters the informant, leaving a lingering sense of mystery and dread.

"What is it that he truly desires?" The question straight come out of my mouth without even hesitating for a second

"He seeks an escape, a means to break free from this eternal cycle," responds the informant.

"I'm afraid I fail to understand what you are saying,"

"That is because you have forgotten everything," explains the informant, hinting at a deeper truth buried within one's consciousness.

"Somewhere within the depths of your mind lies a profound secret, a secret that he covets," continues the informant.

"After countless millennia of patient waiting, you are reborn once more, offering him his final opportunity to obtain it. Once you died in this life, no one knows when you will return as a human again," elaborates the informant, emphasizing the significance of the present moment.

"As a human?" echoes the puzzled him, struggling to grasp the weight of the revelation.

"Indeed, after enduring countless cycles of life and death, inhabiting various forms, you have now assumed human existence," clarifies the informant.

"He seeks to ensnare you within his own hostile cycle, sustain his hold over you," This sounds like a warning to me, painting a grim picture of the situation.

"In order to get what he wants, you have to must remember your past, about your previous life,"

"And in order to achieve that, you must endure excruciating pain and suffering, both physical and mental, for the human brain stands as the most complicated entity in the entire universe. Unearthing the memories of your past lives requires the infliction of extreme torture and anguish,"

"Such as being buried alive?" I inquire, seeking confirmation.

"Precisely," his words resonated with a chilling certainty.

Rudra and I proceed toward my car, our steps guided by a mixture of anxiety and determination.

Though his explanations may dodge my complete understanding, if there is any truth to his words, then I must find a way to locate this enigmatic Ashur before he brings about the terrible end of our world.

"He intends to resurface the events of your previous lives by subjecting you to torment," emphasizing the harrowing path that lies ahead.

"This is all I know, I am again suggesting you go for that yogi, he will explain everything about you,"

But before I could say anything about him, In the very next blink of an eye, he vanishes in the air just like the smoke does.

I turn back and observe here and there but he was gone

Rudra's sudden departure leaves me in a state of deep uncertainty, triggering an ear-piercing storm of thoughts within my mind.

However, in the middle of the chaos and confusion, one unyielding truth emerges: if every event unfolds with an intentional purpose, then it is all-important that I take off on a quest to find the saint's residence upon the isolated hill.

Within his wisdom, I believe I may uncover the elusive answers that have haunted my every waking moment.

But before I can pose a single question, Rudra vanishes from sight, leaving me to grapple with a flood of unanswered inquiries.

The weight of this newfound knowledge presses heavily upon me, compelling me to seek solace and guidance from the sage atop the towering mound.

However, the question arises—should I divulge this precarious situation to my companions?

As I ponder, a realization crystallizes: unveiling the truth to them would prove futile, as the intricacies of my predicament elude even my own understanding.

Attempting to explain would only invite unanswerable inquiries and further confusion.

Perhaps I should silently withdraw, leaving my officers unaware of my intentions.

By burying the truth deep within, I can spare them unnecessary worry and preserve the fragile peace within our besieged city.

The citizens are already gripped by panic, and if news of this imminent catastrophe were to spread, the consequences would be dire indeed.

With a heavy heart, I resolve this solitary quest, concealing the weighty knowledge that burdens my soul.

It takes me nearly two hours to bury the three lifeless bodies tenderly, their final resting place aligning eerily with the depiction in the painting.

As each shovel of soil falls upon them, a chilling realization settles within me—that this grim portrayal is unfolding precisely as anticipated.

I wonder what makes them do such a thing and who tells them, what would anyone achieve something by using them like this?

As Rudra urges, I know I must seek out the saint for answers, yet the present circumstances shackle me, rendering my departure seemingly impossible.

The daunting task of locating the saint within the sprawling expanse of Satpura Valley looms before me.

Stretching over hundreds of kilometers, and connecting diverse regions, it stands as an imposing challenge.

The valley's vastness renders the quest to find a single person akin to chasing a mere wisp of smoke—an attempt that appears hopeless.

The weight of uncertainty presses upon me as I examine the logistics of my journey.

How long will it take to reach the saint's abode? How can I navigate the twisting paths and treacherous terrain of the valley?

It's finally over and now it's time for me to get back, and still, I have not a single clue what I am going to tell them about today.

Fuck it!

Right now, I am very hungry. There's a restaurant that opened a few weeks ago, and it offers a great discount. Well, I'm going to order from there.

Here's my car and my wallet. Great, I have more than fifteen missed calls and dozens of messages.
