Chapter 35 - Assessment

After studying it for a while, Dave still didn't have any clue about the booklet.

He had only learned a little of Rasol in Charms and Curses.

He only knew some simple words. He could not understand most of the words in the booklet.

With his current level as an apprentice, there was no way he could get any more books or information.

Dave decided that his assessment was more important, so he put the booklet aside.

The two Elementalism books were of great help to him.

In fact, more than half of the knowledge in these books had been taught by the instructors in the Elementalism class.

Dave bought them mostly to check for flaws.

He would also use these books as a reference to organize his own discipline.

With the help of the books, Dave's revision speed was very fast.

Although there were still some parts of the content that required a lot of mental energy, this was something that could not be helped.

Unfortunately, Dave did not have enough experience in the two elementalism subjects.

Otherwise, he would have been able to read it all in one go and absorb it all, just like how he had done with Lin En's Potionology.

After he finished reading them all, he might even get full marks for these two elements subjects…

However, all he could do now was to read as much as possible and try his best to score points.

..

The day of the assessment had finally arrived.

On this day, all the level 3 apprentices couldn't help but feel nervous.

To them, today was an important day that would decide their lives.

As long as one was diligent and didn't slack off, the passing rate was still very high.

Of course, even so, every year, there would still be a few " lucky ones " who failed the assessment due to slacking off and were expelled from the academy.

Therefore, no one dared to neglect it.

Dave sat in his chair quietly after he saw his position on the bulletin board. He was immersed in the last revision.

The assessment time was at night and during the day. He did a general review of all the knowledge points.

Now that he thought about it, he didn't manage to revise much, but it was still better than nothing.

Andre suddenly jumped out at an inappropriate time.

"Hey, Dave, how was your revision for today's assessment?"

Dave was a little upset, but he still nodded.

"There shouldn't be any problems."

"You definitely won't have a problem!"

Andre patted his shoulder and smiled. "Dave, you've been working very hard in your studies.

"As an official apprentice, it doesn't matter even if you fail the test, right?"

".. I know that."

Dave sighed.

If it was just to pass the assessment, why would he study so hard?

Wasn't it all to get more points and free subject experience from the system?

"By the way, let me tell you a secret."

Andre leaned over and lowered his voice.

"A few acolytes with serious pollution have been captured by the academy. We haven't seen their figures yet…

"The guys with mild pollution symptoms are all in danger now."

Dave was surprised.

".. Hasn't the academy settled this matter yet?"

"How is that possible?"

Andre sneered.

"Unless the matter really blows up, would those old fogeys care about the life and death of a level 3 acolyte?

"But no matter what, this matter won't involve us for the time being. It's said that the acolytes on the 28th floor started to get infected."

".. Thank you."

Dave knew that Andre was trying to be nice to him, but he was still grateful for the important information.

Not long after, the assessment finally began.

The young Mage in charge of the invigilator handed out the exam papers, then lazily sat on a chair at the side and took a nap. He looked very relaxed.

Even so, there was no one who cheated.

The acolytes wanted to cheat, but how could they expect to fool an official Mage with such a small trick?

Is it possible to do so?

If they failed the assessment, they would be expelled. Although there was a high chance that they would drown in the sea, there was still a chance of survival, right?

But if they were caught cheating…That would mean losing their lives!

Dave didn't think too much about it.

This was a paper on water elementalism. There were a total of twenty questions. He flipped through it after receiving it, and his eyes were filled with joy.

Most of the questions were within his knowledge!

The process of answering the questions was much easier than he had imagined.

Of the twenty questions, Dave was confident that eighteen of them were correct!

As for the remaining two questions, they were not within the scope of what he had learned, but he still tried to answer them.

After the Water Elementalism exam, it was Dark Elementalism…

After finishing the two subjects that he was not " good at ", Dave finally came to Potionology.

Dave was stunned when he saw the question.

It was not because the questions were difficult, but because…It was too simple!

He did not expect it to be so easy this year.

"Uh... Why does it seem like the questions are not even as hard as they were in previous years…."

Dave looked through the whole paper and knew what was going on.

At the very least, there was no pressure to complete the mission.

It was no exaggeration to say that these questions were as easy as middle school students doing primary school questions for him!

After he had fully understood and absorbed the two books,<< Introduction to Potionology >> and << Lin En's Potionology >>, he was far superior to his peers.

Dave finished the paper in a few minutes.

The only difficult question was the last one.

This was the so-called final question on the exam paper every year.

However, it was just a common knowledge point in Lin En's Potionology.

It could be said that the scope of learning for mage apprentices was too limited.

For someone like him who had a cheat system, there was no pressure at all.

After checking it a few times, he realized that he had not made any mistakes.

Dave put the papers away and didn't want to hand them in early.

It was in his nature not to want to be high-profile.

In this world, being high-profile often did not mean anything good.

He glanced around in boredom. Most of the apprentices around him were still taking the questions seriously.

One of them actually used waste paper to fold a die and threw the die while drawing a hexagram on the table.

Dave could only sincerely wish him well. As a mage, praying to the gods would sometimes be rewarded…
