Lia sat motionless and largely angry at her seat. Neither her nor Silvanna spoke for a long time as Lia attempted to calm her ever-rising anger.
Eventually, Lia sighed.
"She is not a Soul Parasite, she has been around since my birth. I would appreciate it if you didn't call her a Parasite in the future."
Silvanna raised an eyebrow, her calm demeanor a stark difference to Lia's barely restrained anger.
"Alright. If she isn't a Parasite, then I'm not sure what she is. Which should be far more concerning than a Soul Parasite. When it comes to situations such as this, the unknown is always incredibly dangerous."
Lia shook her head.
"It doesn't really matter what she is. She has done nothing but help me throughout most of my life. In fact, her life and mine are effectively the same right now."
Silvanna stood up from her desk and sighed.
"Can I at least perform some kind of...inspection on her? Maybe it'll give me some ideas because honestly, I'm out of them.
I will concede that her existence doesn't mean she is a Parasite. However, her existence does have the same effect a Parasite would have on your soul."
Lia sighed before closing her eyes. In a flash, she swapped places with Saro.
Lia, now Lia Sarovitch stood up slowly. She cracked her neck, and arms a bit. The sudden pressure on her joints needed immediate relief.
"You should really be asking 'me' if you can perform an inspection, not Kova. While we share a body, we are not the same person."
Silvanna sighed as she looked away from Saro. Her form was...difficult for her to look at.
"I apologize for that. She is not your keeper and I have treated her as such. May I perform an inspection of your spirit?"
Saro contemplated her next move. She did not particularly appreciate Silvanna's current tone and general outlook on her, but such a view was at least understandable. If something potentially dangerous was possessing one of her trainees, she would have been likewise worried.
Regardless, the tension building within the room didn't show any signs of stopping unless something was done. Saro was 100% certain that her and Kova couldn't take Silvanna in a fight, so the only logical option she could take was to simply acquiesce.
After her moment of deliberation, Saro nodded.
Silvanna took a few steps forward as Saro began to explain.
"You should prepare yourself. This is unlikely to be pleasant for anyone involved."
Silvanna stepped forward and pressed her hand against Saro's abdomen. After a brief moment, her hand passed through Saro's body and began to glow with an intensely golden light.
Saro watched with curiosity before biting back a scream of pain. The pain was immense, but it was nothing in comparison to the process of Reincarnation. She outright refused to show any clearly visible signs of pain and swallowed her body's biological reaction to the pain through sheer willpower alone.
Silvanna's hand touched Saro's soul. All three individuals felt it, and Saro nearly collapsed as the pain of reincarnation roared to life once more.
Attempting to solidify her willpower and weather its barrage, she closed her eyes and focused.
Silvanna tried to yank her hand backwards, but it wouldn't budge. Instead of panicking any further, she watched Saro fight off this foreign magic.
Saro's experience with this situation aided her. She knew this was a contest of wills, of which she could not afford to lose even once. She rallied her willpower and steeled herself. The magic battered against her, slamming repeatedly against the puny black specter it was tasked with unmaking.
Each subsequent slam caused Saro's mind to shake and her blood to boil. However, the girl was not to be outdone.
Meanwhile, Silvanna was witnessing one of the most bizarre scenes she would ever see. The black specter residing within the sickly gray magic shrank and became nigh impenetrable. She briefly wondered what the specter was attempting to protect, and where the foreign magic had come from. Her focus returned to the scene before her as the gray magic began to batter itself against Saro's soul.
The gray magic slammed, pulled, and tore at the specter with mechanical precision. However, Saro's soul never faltered and was always repaired before the next wave slammed against it.
In between the gray magic's onslaught, Silvanna saw it. A small blood red orb. It rested within the gray sphere of magic and was surrounded by the black specter. Lia Darkova's Soul was being protected by Saro.
The gray magic repeatedly attempted to assault the small red orb, but each time, the specter, Lia Sarovitch, held it back.
A contest of wills ensued, one that Saro could not afford to lose even once.
It lasted almost a full minute before the Magic lost it's volatility and seemed to sizzle into a steady beating. Seeing that it's ravenous assault didn't work, the Gray magic opted for a war of attrition.
However, Silvanna watched on as its rampage left a piece of its own magic within the specter. However, the sliver it left did not continue to rampage. Instead, it turned black and joined with the Specter, strengthening it by a miniscule amount.
Saro had absorbed an insignificant portion of it and has been doing so since Lia Darkova's birth.
Silvanna's hand was yanked back once the contest of wills ended, and Sarovitch stood unmoving for a few seconds. Sweat covered her form and she slowly calmed herself.
She sighed and blinked a bit before speaking.
"Are you happy now?"
