Lacey's head swiveled to the side as Kiraen ran at her. She had thought she dodge his extremely quick attack, and yet her arm fell to the ground lifeless. She cried out in shock and rage.
Kiraen sheathed his blade and shook his head. "I tried to warn you. I wouldn't have needed to-"
Lacey bent down and picked her arm up. It hurt a hell of a lot, but it wasn't going to kill her. Lacey's head began to coalesce into a frenzied madness.
'He's going to attack Lia. Nonononono. Ahahahahahah. Nonono. He's going to hurt her. I can't let that happen! no! he's going to pay!!!!!.' Lacey let out an ear-piercing maniacal laugh. "AHAHAHAHAH! You want to hurt her, don't you?!! Don't lie! Tell me! I know it's true. You can't. I won't let you."
Kiraen watched with fascination and then shock as Lacey placed her arm where it was cut off. The flesh seemed to come alive as it quickly re-attached. 'What the hell. These two are losing their minds.'
Lacey flexed her newly re-attached arm and fingers. It felt like brand new. She suddenly grabbed her head as madness began to consume her. It took her only a moment before she suddenly stood up.
She looked at Kiraen. Her fingernails were badly damaged by the force she had gripped her head with. When she spoke, her voice was alight with annoyance and cold neutrality. Lacey pointed at him as she spoke. "Hey. Boy. Do you plan to hurt her?"
Kiraen was stunned. Both of these individuals were completely losing their minds. He was confused. He had come here simply to eliminate second and third place, but who was this girl, and why the hell did she freak him out?
"I...I think I was going to." This was the only reply he could muster.
Lacey spoke in a voice that was pure ice. "Then die."
She dashed at him as quickly as she could. He was easily able to react, but the strength that Lacey swung the sword down with surprised him. He was forced to one knee as he held his weapon above him, stopping Lacey's mediocre sword. His arms were shaking; he was barely able to withstand her swing.
Lacey clicked her tongue. "I said die." She kicked him hard enough to send him flying. His body bounced off a tree and skidded across the ground before landing a few feet from Lacey.
He coughed, the air in his lungs had been ejected by the force of Lacey's kick.
.....
Lia turned around and saw Lacey fighting someone. When she saw Lacey's arm being cut off, her rage briefly swelled to an explosive amount before it suddenly vanished. She glanced down at the battered body in front of her.
Ruinia was in a sorry state. One of her arms was gruesomely torn off. The area that once connected her arm to her shoulder was jagged, a clean display of where her arm was removed. Her body was covered in bruises and she was covered in her own blood. Ruinia's arms and legs had stakes driven through them, and she was unconscious, or worse, dead. She looked to have been hit by a train.
Lia's mind slowly began to come down from its rage-induced high. Her rage had suddenly vanished, replaced by the neutrality of decision-making. Saro's voice broke through her haze.
'Are you alright?'
Darkova performed a mental nod 'Yeah, but this was a brutal beating.'
Saro nodded. 'Indeed. You're in
Darkova nodded. Her head swiveled to Lacey. 'Is she okay, she seems..'
Saro narrowed her eyes. 'She's in a similar state, although I can't tell what it is. Be careful with this ability, it's dangerous.' She paused before directing her attention towards Ruinia. 'You should kill her, she's barely alive.'
Darkova nodded. 'I see. I'm tempted to leave her to suffer for a bit, but you're right. I need to keep an eye on Lacey's fight.'
Lia turned her eyes down toward the unconscious Ruinia, and she slapped her awake. Ruinia struggled to breathe, but it didn't matter to Lia, she could easily tell she had done severe internal damage.
As she picked her up by the throat, Lia glimpsed multiple ribs poking through her chest. Her legs were a mangled mess of blood, bone, and flesh. All the bones in her remaining arm seemed to have been shattered into micro-fragments. It hung like a useless sack of flesh next to Ruinia's barely conscious body. It was a wonder this person was even half alive.
She spoke to her coldly. "You have my permission to die. There's something more important than you happening. Good riddance."
She plunged her hand into Ruinia's chest, directly piercing her heart. Moments later, she glowed with light and disappeared from the battlefield.
.....
Lacey walked slowly toward Kiraen. He was confused. Before, Lacey was barely able to respond to his attacks, and now she had manhandled him. What the hell happened?
Lacey's hair began to float, subtly defying gravity, as her arms swirled with lightning. "You wanted to hurt her, and I'm going to make you pay for it. If I could, I would force you to suffer a thousand years of eternal torment, but this moment will suffice."
Kiraen began to stand up. His legs were shaking, which made it a difficult process. Lacey was already there to punch him in the stomach once he finally managed to stand up. He fell to his knees in response.
Lacey smirked and put her boot atop his head. She forced lightning mana into his body and she pushed down, forcing him face-first into the dirt.
He began to seize when the lightning mana struck him. The lightning coursed through his body, making his muscles spasm and his body seize. Lacey stomped his head repeatedly. She kept repeating things like: "Lia is mine. You can't harm her. She's all mine~" Each subsequent stomp sent a shock of lightning mana through his body.
She summoned a large arcane spear above Kiraen's exhausted body. Moving her arms down, she dropped it into his torso. It effortlessly pierced his body, barely missing his spinal column. He was pinned to the ground.
Lacey smirked and sat down in front of him. Her eyes were warm with delight. "Answer my questions please~"
With the Arcane spear in his back, he had no choice but to comply. He nodded furiously.
Lacey smiled. "Who's the coolest, cutest, and most dashing person?~"
Kiraen froze. "Er...you?"
Lacey pouted. "Errrt! Wrong!" She sent a strong burst of lightning mana through the Arcane spear in retaliation for his wrong answer.
Kiraen tried to scream, but couldn't. His throat and chest muscles were continuously being shocked. After three seconds, it passed, leaving him panting and exhausted.
Lacey smiled. "Please answer the question again, but get it right!~"
Kiraen's mind swam with thoughts before he blurted out: "Lia! Lia Darkova!!"
Lacey smiled. "Ding Ding! Correct. You have two more questions!" She paused before eventually continuing. "Who do I belong to!~"
Kiraen started to understand the theme a bit. This woman was entirely insane. Her mind was broken, and she was completely gone in the head. He hurriedly spoke the answer. "Lia. Argghh! Lia...Darkova!" The spear twisted in his back mid-sentence.
Lacey smirked at his response, both to the question and to the twisting of the spear. "Ding Ding! correct!"
Kiraen gritted his teeth in pain. His mind was in anguish, and his body was extremely exhausted from muscle spasms.
Lacey continued, her voice picking up a sing-songy tune. "What's Lia's favorite food?~"
Kiraen had no idea. He stupidly made a random guess. "Fuck I don't know...Chicken?"
Lacey smiled in response. "Errrt! Wrong answer!"
He prepared for the worst, expecting another shock. However, it didn't come. The spear grew jagged edges in his back as Lacey quickly pushed and pulled as it spun. He screamed a guttural, feral, hatred-filled scream in response.
The body, or rather two bodies left were completely lifeless. Lacey had used the spear to cut and tear his torso in half.
Lacey quickly yanked the spear out. She pouted when she realized what she had done.
"Oh darn! I've always wanted to know!"
