-(Another very brutal one. It won't always be like this. Lia doesn't just kill people for no reason, I swear.)-
Lia gazed around the clearing, searching while speaking to Sarovitch about a way to chase her down. Sarovitch suggested something known as "mana domain", which would be an unquestionably insane feat to perform. Lia decided to try it.
She closed her eyes as her mana extended outward. She felt nothing as her mana extended further and further. Eventually, she felt a small foot touch the ground. This person was making a mad dash for safety.
Lia's eyes snapped open as she surged forward. She began chasing this woman. Lia, being a vampire, had unnaturally high stamina. The human was no match for her, and Lia had caught up right when her invisibility turned off.
Yura, the invisible girl was starting to inwardly panic. 'Shit! Shit! Shit! How do I escape? How can I get out of this? Think Yura, think!'
Lia chuckled maniacally. "It seems I have caught up to you. No-more-running~"
Lia's mind swam with battle-lust. Her thoughts were clouded. She could feel Sarovitch moving alongside her. Those words were spoken by Sarovitch and Lia began to wrest her control back, but it was to no avail. Sarovitch was running this show now.
Yura began to watch with fascination and fear as Lia's whole body shook before she stood upright. A wide, chaotic, and fear-instilling smile spread across her face as she spoke words that made one's blood churn. "Come now. You're going to be so fun to mutilate. Let's go! Get up! Come at me! FIGHT! Try to claim my life! DO IT! NOW!"
Sarovitch was yelling now, and Yura began to back away in fear. Sarovitch's body relaxed suddenly. Her voice sounded dead, colder than the chill night. "I see, so you're just weak...then die." Sarovitch moved so fast that Yura barely had time to react.
Twisting her body to the side, Yura's chest was penetrated by Sarovitch's hand. She had plunged her hand clean through Yura's chest, intending to rip her heart out. With the desperate twist of Yura's body, Sarovitch's hand had missed her heart.
Sarovitch lifted Yura into the air using her arm, an eyebrow lifting in response to her prey's slight movement. "I see, so you may be useful after all. If you survive this, come and find me."
Sarovitch discarded Yura's barely conscious body, tossing her aside like garbage. She dashed off into the forest, leaving a bleeding and nearly dead Yura behind.
....
Sarovitch backed off and allowed Darkova to regain control. They were having a mild argument.
'Sarovitch, what the hell was that? I thought you said you'd let me take control unless I wanted you to come out.'
'Sorry Darkova, the bloodlust went straight to my head. I needed to stretch my legs. I'll do a much better job of keeping it down. Don't worry. That was..unsightly, and I won't let it get the better of me again.'
Lia Darkova softened a bit. 'It happens. Especially to vampires. If you want to come out, just let me know so we can avoid this in the future. I trust you, Sarovitch.'
Darkova thought for a moment. 'Can I just call you Saro? Sarovitch is a bit of a mouthful.'
Sarovitch responded with slight amusement. 'Sure, but I'm going to call you Kova.'
.....
Lia, now Lia Darkova, sat near a tree. She was growing incredibly thirsty, and forcibly drinking someone's blood was a violation that she would never do. Looking down at her arm covered in Yura's blood, she slowly moved it to her mouth and began licking it up.
Yura's blood tasted like cloves, something that Lia wasn't a huge fan of. Fortunately, drinking blood like this wasn't taboo. She didn't drink a lot, just a small enough amount to diminish her extreme hunger.
After tasting Yura's spilled blood, she began to ponder her next move. Well, she was going to before she was interrupted by a massive *BOOM* followed by trees in the distance falling. Swiftly standing up, Lia began to head in that direction.
Upon arriving, Lia saw a strange sight. A man was floating in the air. He looked battered and beaten. Standing on the ground were three more humanoids. They looked to be half-human, half-something. Lia couldn't tell what. Though, based on how bad everyone looked, the floating man was giving the three of them a run for their money.
"Impudent. Your refusal to die is impudent." Fire coalesced around his sword as he slashed down. A wave of fire was thrust outward, engulfing the three. They remained standing, however, and the lady in the back began casting healing magic on her team.
The boy holding a bow drew it back and let the arrow fly, hitting the floating man in the shoulder. He merely grunted in pain. Lia debated revealing herself before she ultimately decided to do it. She could use the points.
"Foolish, Truly-" The floating man was interrupted by Lia who exited the trees. She was performing a slow clap.
*Clap* *Clap* *Clap* "My, my, my. This is interesting. What a fun display of strength. Unfortunately, it's my turn." Lia's mana surged, taking a physical form, and forcefully pulled the floating man to the ground. He hit the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of him.
Lia's magic began to cling to them. 'Which element this time, hmm? I wonder.' Lia addressed her opponents, who were now locked in place. "What magic should I use? Do you have any preferences?"
They were stunned and, of course, didn't respond at all. She shrugged and decided on one. Blood.
The mana threads holding them in place began to turn onto blood-red strands. The strands tightened around each person, restricting them as their eyes went wide. Blood magic was...is..black magic.
The threads tightened more and more as Lia closed her eyes. Slowly, the threads began to sink into their skin. Lia could feel her mana in their body. She could feel the blood mixing with theirs. Expertly controlling it, she urged it forward, snaking its way through their veins as her opponents fell to the ground unmoving.
The blood magic threatened to ravish their insides, it wanted to go haywire, It wanted Lia to give up her control. Morbid curiosity lit up her mind as she opened her eyes and let go.
The floating man was the first. The blood magic began to attack his white blood cells. It wreaked havoc on his nervous system as he began convulsing. Blood poured from his eyes as they suddenly burst. He was the first to die.
Next was the boy with a bow. Lia allowed the blood magic to run rampant. His outer layer of skin began to tear apart. Blood seeped out before returning to his body, ravishing it even more. What was left behind was a gruesome scene of a man's body shredded into bits.
It was the "leader's" turn next. Lia once again let go of her control of the spell. The blood magic consumed his blood and began expanding. He exploded, with blood, guts, and bile covering everything. A wall of mana blocked it from covering Lia, but she began to muse about her "experiments".
'So, blood magic is extremely volatile. It's difficult to control and seems to have a mind of its own, though I'm not sure how to influence this mind. Theoretically, if I could influence it in some way, I wouldn't have to control the spell manually, and instead only give a directive for it to follow. Very promising indeed.'
Lia looked at her final opponent. The healer girl was shaking, terrified of what this vampire was going to do to her.
"I wonder..." Lia controlled the mana within the healer. She re-routed it to her legs and gave it a verbal order. "Strangle" was what she said as she relinquished her control.
The girl died instantly, and Lia was suddenly confused as her mana dispersed. Looking down at her, Lia realized why. "Ah, she had a heart attack and died. Unfortunate."
