They arrived within twenty minutes of Benjamin's fast driving, which would've normally taken the average person an hour. Alaric was standing out in the front yard, the wild wind and rain that was usually plaguing his home was worse than usual. His clothes danced, and he flashed over to the car, holding out an umbrella so that when she stepped out she wouldn't be soaked.
He hadn't expected to see Benjamin in the driver's seat. Though, as soon as Benjamin stepped out, Alaric moved with a vampyric speed, punching him in the face, then reappearing back outside the passenger door.
Ari stepped out of the car and into the shade of the umbrella. Her eyes couldn't track his movements but she heard Benji's grunt of pain. "Don't hurt him. I'm fine. I'm fine." Despite the weather that stormed about then, she threw her arms around Alaric's neck, burying her face into his chest.
