Sweat covered his face as his fire ability deactivated and he continued his way further into the island in search of more players. From what he had noticed, he realized the Spirit Serpent was likely the only beast on the island otherwise why would it be producing mana on the land. This was a reasonable fact why it was referred to as the guardian of the island. From his fight with the Serpent, he had got to know of the beast's strength. It was obviously much stronger than the winged Jackals. As the System had only said to harm the Serpent, knowing fully well that it was beyond his capacity to kill it.
The winged Jackals were hard to get a hit on as they were faster and more agile than the Spirit Serpent because they were not as huge as the beast. The System had said the Spirit Serpent was a grade 9 Divine beast while the Winged Jackals were grade 8 Divine beasts. The difference between them was just a grade yet the gap between their abilities seemed way more than just a grade.

Max's face read surprise. Only God knew how strong even the weakest rank of beasts and demons could be when the middle rank of beasts already possessed intimidating strength.

Kayla shifted her gaze to the two girls seated on her bed.
"That's all?" One of them with pink hair asked.

The other girl whom was a brunette rolled her eyes.
"Girls, this is a strange situation the world is in and you think the internet's gonna have an answer to something way beyond this world. C'mon have some sense," She scoffed.
"Brenda I guess you're right so what do we do now? I can't afford losing my brother," Kayla sighed.
"I can't imagine losing a hottie like your brother either but right now I'm just as confused as you are," Brenda, the brunette said.
"Ruby?" Kayla looked helplessly at the Pink-haired girl.
"Got no idea sis," Ruby shook her head.
"You know what?" Kayla suddenly said.
"What?" The other girls chorused.

The girl's eyes widened. There was definitely no way they would risk their life even if it was to save a hottie. Besides they had no money and the Government had ordered to confiscate the game.

Mrs Addison stood in front of the girls with red and swollen eyes. Her appearance was a total mess. She had been crying ever since Max got trapped in the game.

Max scrutinized the sword now in his hand. The blade was made from pure silver that shone brightly. The edges were sharp and could cause a deep cut even at the slightest touch. The black hilt had gold outlines that made it even more attractive.

"At least this is what I get for 200 gems," Max smiled and swung the blade from hand to hand. He sliced through the air trying to practice a few sword techniques.
After a few minutes of sword practice, the black vine like designs on the hilt of the sword began crawling towards his fingers and slowly began making their way to his shoulder.
"What's going on?" Max sounded alarmed.

The young boy with one arm covered in black vines which held a sword, emitted a dark glow similar to the one in his eyes.

"The repugnant smell of beasts! How much I detest it!" Max said in an annoyed tone. His lifeless eyes were still giving off a dark aura.
"Boss, I can sense Monthenia from that sword," One of the pigs said, somewhat in fear.
"It's controlling the kid," The leader pig replied.
