"It's simple. You three each pass a test and I give you something that could help you," The man said. "But if even one of you fails the test, the one who fails will not be able to leave my humble abode. It's been quite lonely around here and it's been a while since I remembered what human blood tastes like."
A sinister smile drew up on his face and Max knew that they had accidentally met something much more than he had thought.
"You are not a mage," Max said with squinted eyes and immediately, the others stood up to their feet alongside him.
The man chuckled.
"I never said I was one."
Max had read about trolls in comics and sometimes in novels but what was before his eyes was a far different description of what was often described about trolls. This troll looked human enough to think he was a normal human.
"You're a troll," He said with a tone of surprise.
