Max scoffed.
"Love me? She doesn't love me."
"How could you even say that?" Lenora asked with wide eyes.
"Because she doesn't. I know she doesn't. She knows she doesn't. We know she doesn't," Max said.
He scoffed once again. Lenora would never understand his relationship with his mother. Most people thought he was the one who was being unfair to his mother but then, he knew she was the one being unreasonable. How hard was it to just tell her kids of their father? How much would it cost to say something?
"Never mind. I don't want to talk about my mother," Max kissed his teeth.
Lenora inhaled deeply.
"My mum was my everything," She began.
"Was?" Max asked with a look of concern vivid on his face.
"Yeah. She's dead. She died a very long time ago," Lenora bit her lips as she spoke.
"Oh I'm so sorry to hear that," Max replied, trying his best to comfort her.
