The year 1845 is where our story begins, John Carter is a 25-year-old slave in Chickasaw County, Mississippi. He is a slave in the largest plantation: Candyland. John is a Mandingo Fighter not just that he is the strongest one on his plantation. The bad thing about this is that John does not like fighting but he knows he has to survive. John wants to escape away from the plantation but it won't be easy. This story will focus on the lives of many slaves who are all trying to escape to freedom.
