Four years ago, A Runemaster had the same thoughts as him. The Runemaster firmly believed that if a person is injected with Mana he can awaken his ability.
But during the experiment when the Runemaster injected a person with his Mana, it caused that person's body to explode. Pieces of his flesh were flying everywhere and his blood was all over the floor.
The way the man's body exploded, it was as if a bomb had detonated inside him. After reading the experiment report and watching the experiment video many times, he started to believe an excessive amount of Mana in one's system was dangerous.
But clinging to his research that Mana particles were gentle and they mold themselves according to the environment. Welson started looking for ways to prove the experiment wrong.
He started experimenting to prove the Runemaster was wrong. But the experiments he did, had the same results as he saw in Runemaster's experiment video.
After failing multiple times and killing quite a few rabbits, he started wondering if his discovery was wrong. Mana doesn't mold itself according to its environment.
But research clearly shows Mana moulds itself according to its environment!
Then it struck him. Mana changes according to its environment. The particles of Mana in the sea are gentle and filled with the essence of life, but the particles in volcanoes emit heat and carry burning effects.
If nature has such an effect on Mana particles, then what about Mana inside the human body? It is a bond to have some unknown properties.
When this Mana of unknown properties enters the body of another human, it forces the body's original Mana to fight back. Which in turn leads to the body exploding.
Everything became clear, it wasn't that his discovery was wrong. Instead, it was because the Mana he was using was already contaminated. This contaminated Mana was the reason why rabbits kept exploding.
After solving one mystery, he came across another dilemma. If he wanted to know what effect Mana can have on normal humans he needed access to pure Mana.
But he, like every other awaken, had no way of gathering the particles of Mana present in the environment. This was something that abilities automatically do.
So, he started looking for ways to collect pure Mana because he firmly believed injecting someone with pure Mana would create a miracle, even if it doesn't awaken one's ability.
After spending a whole month trying to find something that could be of any help, he got nothing. The only useful information he had was an article from 3 years ago; promoting a Runemaster who could inscribe runes faster because he found a way to use Mana particles in the environment rather than using his own Mana.
Maybe a Runemaster could help him in finding a way to collect pure Mana particles. Using his connections he got inside a rune-inscribing community filled with Runemaster.
After asking around about the way to collect pure Mana, he was surprised. In the inscribing community, it was common to gather Mana particles from the air and use them to inscribe symbols on weapons and armour.
But they had no way of storing the Mana. One of the Runemasters he spoke with suggested he should look for a Rune-Grandmaster to custom-make a device that could collect and store Mana particles.
So, he started looking for a Rune-Grandmaster willing to make a custom device for him.
Using his family's influence and begging many Rune-Grandmasters, he found one willing to take his order. But the price for the device was ridiculously high, he wanted 60 Million for it.
Although the amount was ridiculously high, at the time he was dying to know what changes can Mana bring to the human body.
So, after burning through all his savings and taking a few loans, he was able to cough up the amount.
In a week the device arrived at his doorstep. Eagerly he opened the package and found a glass jar inside. The jar was covered in different runes and it had a few drops of crystal-clear liquid inside.
Placing the jar on a table he started looking for Rune-Grandmaster's contact in his phone. He had no idea how the jar worked.
Does he have to activate it or does it gather Mana on its own? If he was to activate it, how to do that? If the jar is filled with Mana, how to collect it?
With many questions in his mind, he called the Rune-Grandmaster. But no one picked up his call. He tried again and again but no one picked up the call.
Honestly, at that time he thought he got scammed.
But then his eye landed on the crystal clear liquid inside the jar. It seems the liquid inside the jar increased, as he was trying to get hold of Rune-Grandmaster.
Amazed by what he saw, he took a moment to appreciate the Rune-Grandmaster's work and then opened the jar and collected pure Mana inside.
Finally having access to pure Mana, Welson continued his research.
After collecting some Mana, he injected a rabbit with 5 ml of pure liquid Mana. As Mana entered the rabbit's bloodstream, it started going through a mutation.
The rabbit grew by a few inches along with gaining sharp fangs. But what was just the beginning, a few days passed by and the mutation continued.
On the fourth day, the rabbit had grown 2 feet. Aside from fangs, it also gained claws and now there was a horn on its head.
During the whole mutation, Welson was shocked. He never expected something like this to happen when he first injected the rabbit with a dose of pure Mana.
On the fifth day, the mutation stopped and the new creature before Welson's eyes doesn't resemble a rabbit at all. Instead, this creature looked like an apex predator of the wild.
The mutant rabbit was fast enough to leave the cheetah in the dust and its jumping ability could put even fleas to shame. Its razor-sharp claws could cut through steel bars like they were made of butter.
Seeing the whole process, he was amazed by the wonders of Mana. A single dose of 5 ml of pure Mana was enough for the small rabbit to undergo numerous evolution and become the creature before his eyes.
The rabbit performed a miracle and went through numerous evolution which could take even thousands or even millions of years to achieve in a matter of days.
But In the process, it lost something very important.
