Chapter 13 - Old Knight Wipes The Floor Red (Part 3)

[Author's Note: Today's chapter will be short but will set you readers up for the grand finale of this match. Anyways, enjoy!]

Charles POV:

Would you look at that! It turns out that messy and bloody pentagram he drew wasn't for a demonic summoning ritual!

Instead of selling his soul to the Devil, he gave his body to a decrepit old lizard!

...

I should've rephrased that differently. It sounds as though he has a fetish for old men or lizards.

And I, for one, would not like him to be attracted to me.

After slicing that ominous crystal with a giant beating dragon heart, the sliced-up crystal transformed into red particles which flew into Prince Ginger's body.

Just as I thought nothing would happen after a few seconds passed, with no signs of dramatic power increases or transformations, Prince Ginger fell to the ground in pain and started flailing around like a fish out of water.

That was when the transformation occurred.

The red armour he wore, which I could tell was made from dragon scales, suddenly lit up and grew in size, fusing with Prince Ginger's flesh.

As his fused scales grew, so did his body.

Before absorbing the evil power that lay dormant within the dragon's heart, the Prince's height stood at roughly five-foot-ten. After absorbing the heart's essence, he transformed into something similar to a Dragonborn but much larger and monstrous.

His muscles tightened, and his limbs bulged to the thickness of oak tree trunks.

The scales which previously made up his armour transformed into a second skin.

A red, meter-long tail grew from his rear, a pair of short crimson leathery wings sprouted forth from his back, sharp black claws and talons grew at the ends of his hands and feet, and to finish the transformation. What was previously an ornate red helmet with horns transformed into a long-snouted, horned lizard head.

With the transformation complete and the pain that came with it subsiding, a ten-foot-tall, scaly, red and doped Dragonborn stood before me with blood-shot hatred-filled eyes.

He snarled.

"YOU'RE F*CKED NOW, OLD MAN!"

"For someone who just lost their manhood, you sure have the balls to challenge me after I sent you flying three times with a slap."

By the way, the first two times I sent him flying were before the match, and the last one wasn't a slap at all.

However, this will provide good bait for him to bite on and easily become provoked.

If one loses their cool amidst a heated battle, especially against an opponent stronger than them, they are bound to make reckless mistakes that would spell their defeat.

And apparently, it worked since moments later, he cursed me and spewed a long twenty-foot diameter fire cone in my direction.

"DIE, YOU EXPIRED RAISIN!"

*Flame spewing SFX*

[Author's Note: I'm not good with onomatopoeias.]

Hmm, interesting. Despite not being in total control of his power, his attack speed and power certainly improved, if only temporarily.

However, such cheap tricks from a teenager who suffers from victim mentality won't work against a Hero who defeated the Demon King.

In response to his violent outburst, I strengthened my legs with Mana and sidestepped the cone of flames.

"Hmph, is this all you got? Even with a power-up, I could-"

*BAM!*

Before I could finish my sentence, a fist suddenly flew down from above at my face, filled with murderous killing intent.

I narrowly dodged the attack before facing Prince Lizard.

"Alright, boy, I went easy on you since you didn't have the intent to kill earlier, but playtime is over with that little stunt that you pulled."

The only reply I got back was a two-word sentence and a flurry of fists.

"SHUT UP!"

I parried each of his blows with the side of my greatsword.

After deflecting a few dozen or so of his attacks, I blasted him back with a shockwave of pure Mana that wouldn't damage him too badly since I wanted to discipline him.

"Alright, boy, it's time for the next lesson."

It's about time for me to stretch my old bones.
