Chapter 40 - Usefulness Of The Jade Seal, Findings Of Unexpected Treasures

Even Megha didn't expect how she got herself into the mess. ' It's either, That little devil goading me in for the fun of it or I was so blind to agree with this rubbish thing '

' Oww, my back! " Megha groaned her muscles in leg, waist and shoulders real stiff." Well I should never underestimate the cleaning disciples or the old bones. This is much more of a hassle than I initially thought it was' Megha grimaced as she straightened up from her crouching position and stretched.

The books on her hands and laps all slide down. Not least bothered by the battered books that's fell down. At first she kept up her act of good manners, just for the sake of gaining good will out of the grumpy old bones,  things didn't go as she planned.

Megha underestimated the library guardians, they were like ghosts in the cemetery. It's nearly impossible to find any one of them, not  as she expected them to be.

Had it not been for the token in her hand as well her status they would have surely thrown her out if she was sure of it. Despite her polite attitude, or the cute and coy one that always worked on someone like her grandpa or similar aged person, nothing works for these grumpy old fellows.

' Every one of these old things are secretly psychopaths or just deep down bitter souls. How could they ignore the cuteness of Little Miss?'

What she couldn't tolerate most was that they never had any favorable opinion of her despite her best effects.  She could have sworn the other day one of the protectors looked at her with annoyance and distance but that was a brief moment she can't be sure.

But Megha wasn't willing to stress herself with this matter. The pass was about to expire in a few days. When Thinking about why she was wasting her time here was entirely the little demon's fault.

Why else would she bother about extravagantly getting a pass for the whole thirty days holed up in there. Well at least it does help her in some other way not adding anymore stress. Megha doesn't have to 'accidentally' meet up with her father every day.

She scolded herself for keeping thinking about raising her strength all the time and gullible enough to be convinced by the demoness in the jade seal.  Well lf things have to be put correctly, Nithya was more of an artifact spirit than anything else.

But the child likes things more cunning and intelligent than both of Megha's life put together. Things started pretty simply when she randomly remembered about one incident in her previous life, where she got an astounding Information about her sect.

Well it's more like an opportunity, something at the time wasn't entirely possible, she definitely couldn't get her hands back then. But now though, the cause of her hesitation was also reasonable as she really wondered how much of this information was true and whether or not it was worth it.

So, Megha was kind of shocked when Nithya volunteered to speak about this information. One had to know they weren't currently on speaking terms after their last bout. The seal expects Megha to readily apologize for what she said the other day. While Megha simply did not care about it at all, maintained her attitude like 'It's not entirely my fault'  this kind of vibe going with her.

After the refinement Megha knew exactly who  or what she was dealing with. She had no intention of bowing her head or tolerating any of this nonsense.

Nitya straight out claimed there is really some awesome treasure in the library. Which will help her out a great deal for her plan to succeed. Megha was shocked doesn't that mean she was losing out in her previous life because of her careless life.

If she knew, there was really something precious in her sect library. Megha definitely would have ridden it, she could never allow a bunch of backstabbing traitors and her enemies benefit from something her fore fathers inheritance left behind.

Thus she is easily convinced by Nithya to give a thorough search in the library.  She even goes as far as to get a special pass for this treasure hunt, afraid someone will meddle with her plans.

In the first few days she was truly enthusiastic about unearthing some huge treasures or secrets. But it was only after a few days did she really understand the horrors and hardships of searching for this so-called opportunity. it's really like the certain saying of 'Searching needle in haystack '.

It was truly started to get her when she realized there was a chance she might never really find out this opportunity.  Not only that old man told her what it was in her previous life, the seal also sang a similar tune.

Even after her begging Nithya kept claiming she doesn't really know what this so-called great opportunity is. Megha could only grit her teeth and endure the monotonous searching the remaining days.

She had to rake her brain to find some innovative ways of searching the damn building thoroughly.

Megha had to look for any hidden passage from the moldy racks to, wooden in some cases stone walls, Statues and other decorative ornaments on each and every darn floor.

She has yet to find this so called 'Opportunity' at one point she had to admit she really does have sh*** luck. Megha knows the protectors or more or less now started to pay attention to her suspicious activities in the last week as she accidentally broke a rack.

When one of them rushed up to check out what happened. So shocked she kind of ended up stuttering and stammering some nonsense the old thing certainly wasn't buying her nonsense if the grim look on his face at that time indicated anything.

But she was glad he didn't dish out any kind of punishment if he really did, who knows maybe her taking mission next month had to be postponed temporarily. Megha wasn't willing to see such a hindrance to her plans.

Megha soullessly took another battered book from the rack; she felt a soft thrum in her chest; the seal let out a warm glow. ' What happened? Was there someone looking for me? Megha asked absentmindedly as she browsed the book ' it couldn't be aunt right? I don't think Vaani would come look for me at this time unless something urgent '

Megha casually speculated she didn't notice Nitya unusually silent after grabbing her attention. Nitya was like a magical radar that could easily scan half the sect effortlessly without alerting high-level martial practitioners.

Nitya's capabilities were mostly unknown despite the few she already knew or Nitya shown to her during this period. Remaining abilities were vague and Megha vowed to find out every single one of them.

When someone came to look for her these days Nithya gave her heads up.  Also Nitya was the one keeping an eye on the guardians here, she definitely couldn't afford to have them walk in on her at a critical moment.

As well as checking on her family, in case something urgent happened, so naturally Megha thought someone was asking for her.

But all Megha got after the unnatural pause was somewhat unscrupulous laughter from Nithya. Strangely though Megha could sense more than a few bubbling emotions.

Megha frowned. " Well? Care to tell me what's the matter with your creepy laughter just now? '' Megha definitely doesn't like it when someone or something catches her off guard.  She definitely finds it hard to get along well with a spiteful artifact spirit.

Megha these days is simply on the edge... well to be honest she was like this from the day of her regression.  No one should blame her wariness, if she wasn't ready for any unforeseen situation then it merely means she lost her will to live and whatever happened to her family.

Doesn't that mean she was merely waiting for fate to take its course like the last time? Megha knows Simply Trying and having knowledge about the future isn't enough for her to come out as a victor in this upcoming confrontation.

Megha was merely ensuring everything was ready as she planned. Readying herself to gamble, fight them to the best of her ability was what she was aiming for.

That's what all she could do at the moment. Besides, she never managed to find the full capabilities of her shady foes. That's the source of her unrest, an undeniable fact that is really bothering her most.  If she.  miscalculated anything then the final outcome would cost her literally everything.

' Hahahaha, Little girl I really don't expect this thing to turn out to be your so-called opportunity. Then again I'm not entirely surprise....knowing that it's you, a anomaly through and through its kind of make sense '

'Great , great, it's really going to be fun I say...  hehehe! I mean this will be a form of entertainment for me in the least...don't you think so?' Niyhya's teasing voice rang in Megha's head.

Megha stared blankly at the book rake in front  her somewhat numb mind couldn't fully understand what Nithya was implying here, her stupid laughs kind of irritated her a great deal and what's with these ever so vague and ambiguous phrases.

This mysterious way of its talking was most what agitated Megha. Despite Megha's direct demanding or indirect probing and begging Nithya never admitted she knew something or she had a certain kind of ability or something that explains why it acts all smug or pretend all knowing but that doesn't stop it from talking in riddles which often lead them into one of their fights.

Megha's eyes slowly widened as she realized what exactly Nithya was implying. Megha's body trembled in uncontrollable joy. She had to stifle her happy squeal which wasn't good for her.  She most certainly didn't want to draw attention from those old bones.

' Nithya... does that mean you did successfully manage to locate where our treasure is kept hidden? ' Megha hurriedly projected her thoughts to another party, she was kind of breathless at the moment.

' Huh! What do you mean I located it? didn't I already tell you this: it's only you who fated to find it not me I can at most  only deduce the general direction or location...and it's not my job- '

Megha interrupted Nithya's talk in a cold tone ' So you don't locate the treasure or anything.... not even get me some kind of hint or anything is that correct?' her voice is getting more and more chilling.

' Uh-huh, that's correct, didn't I make it extremely clear already? ' Nithya sounded annoyed at the moment she couldn't understand why the girl was this dumb speaking up coldly and rudely. ' What an Immature brat ' Nithya thought later.

' The f*** you are thinking you are doing... Do you think it was fun to prank me? laughing creepily out of blue...giving sassy replies, stupid b**** can't you tell how stressed I'm right now? This damn thing stresses me out a great deal, stop making ruckus if you aren't useful then at least be quiet ' Megha furious with all these little stunts, her anger burst out like a volcano.

*GOOONNNGGG!* 'OUCH!'

A blaring bell sound nearly busted her head from inside and likely fried her brain out. Megha clutched her head painfully, all of her frustration and rage dissipated at the very next second only pain and the blaring sound kept echoing through her head.

Megha unsteadily slid down to the floor still clutching her head fortunately or unfortunately for her no one in that particular floor at the moment, not even the protectors of the library.

Megha surprisingly didn't make a sound or rather can't make any sound. At the moment it took a combination of all her will power, tempered body and strong soul that she managed to stay conscious or not puke out her stomach there and then.

' So you were saying? What was that again I'm sorry I can't hear clearly and care to repeat one more time ' a condescending tone rang in her already pounding head.

But Megha was wise she kept quiet and escaped further torture session.

___ ___ ___

Couple of hours later pale faced Megha in her bedroom looking at two battered, ancient looking books in her hands.

A slightly more cheerful voice broke the silent atmosphere ' What do you think, aren't I super useful huh? I can pretty much store anything in this world, mind you '  the voice bragged.

'In truth it was you who was useless and ignorant to blame anything about me, your strength is very very weak hmph! And make sure you learn how to be grateful ' came a snide remark and snort came from the same voice.

Megha's vacant expression morphed into hysterics ' Is this the thing you were talking about earlier?' Megha doesn't seem to be paying any attention to Nitya's boasting. It came straight to what she wanted to know ' What the hell is this thing again? '
