Chapter 1 - Introduction

Violet Laclette, the daughter of Marquise Julliene Laclette, was the 4th child of 5 children in the Laclette family. She was always craving for love as a child but never received it, yet she never complained nor uttered a single word of annoyance towards any of her family members. With her oldest sister as the heir, her 1st brother a reputable general, her 2nd sister a popular figure in the social world, and her youngest brother a genius scholar she always felt the pressure to do something in order to help her family.

As of many noble ladies, she had an appointed marriage to the Duke's son, Yulin Cassain. When she first heard the proposal of the Duke to her father, she immediately agreed to it as a way to help her family gain power and people. However, what she didn't expect was that she'd fall in love with him. Unfortunately, like many other stories with noble ducal families, Yulin never paid her much attention as he hated people who wanted to be close to him for the benefits his family would offer. Hence, despite all of Violet's attempts and chances at love, she never once succeeded.

Violet was already used to not receiving love, so she never felt the need to do much, and anyway, the people she loved hadn't paid much attention to anyone else as well. That was until Princess Eillia of the Armandous Kingdom came due to political issues and as a delegate. However, the reality was that the Armandous Kingdom sent her as a spy and to finish the emperor off and take over. Although her role was to get close to the Emperor, the Emperor sent her to the Duke's house as he felt they would welcome her better. It was through this arrangement that Yulin fell for Eillia due to her natural cold demeanour towards everyone else, and he felt that she was the only one who didn't want to use him. Hence, he fell in love, and so did many others, which eventually led to Violet's fall...
