Chapter 12 - Ch 11. Threats From Goldie

Rosanna's P. O. V:

After my meal- which, by the way was downright awkward, Aniysa and I left for Herbology Class. Our time schedules were the same but not our classes. Save for Herbology Class which was the only class in correspondence.

Our professor for Herbology was a grey haired man in his 50's. Professor Darwin is his name. He looked mean with his resting face and warm when he smiled, lighting up his whole aura in a second.

And he smiled a lot. Seemingly whenever he talked about plants. Otherwise, no.

"Remind me again, why do you attend herbology class? Aren't you a warrior or something?"

I whispered to Aniysa as we walked slowly at the back.

We were on a trip in the greenhouse where Professor Darwin was busy explaining the characteristics of several plants.

It was partially interesting and partially boring.

"Well," Aniysa stated. Rubbing the sides of her arm as she looked down.

"Herbology is not really class specified. It's an option. But It's... Something that reminds me of my Sister. I like to feel she's around by engaging in the things- places, where I know I could find her."

I let out a soft hum, cringing internally at the situation I brought up.

I swung my hand around her shoulders, wondering how to proceed and make her feel okay.

Corry Campbell- deceased sister of Aniysa. A mystery and horror story.

The guilt gnawed on me and I decided to keep my mouth shut.

Aniysa looked at me and smiled. Understanding my feelings.

"It's been a year... I can at least hold the tears in public."

I sighed ruffling her hair.

This girl has grown on me at frightening pace.

"You know, Patty." She said smiling.

"You look a lot like Corry. But the difference is obvious."

"Mm?" I said, staring ahead at the professor who was too busy explaining his love for plants, herbs and flowers to notice half of his students were bored and inattentive.

"Yeah. Your hair, eyes, lips, nose are almost like a lookalike but your skin color is darker. And personality-wise, Corry was just like a fairytale princess or um, like that princess; Brave. But you're more like that wicked mastermind who acts so normal."

I tugged at her cheek and she let out a low yelp.

"Repeat that, would you?"

I gave her my sweetest smile, making sure the promise of vengeance was in my eyes.

"Yes, yes I will. Patrica is a wicked fellow, rotten to the bottom of- ouch!"

Ani is sure to leave this class with a bunch of red marks on her fair skin.

.

After Herbology Class was lunch break. Almost all students were located in the Cafeteria. And Aniysa had left off to somewhere on an emergency.

Leaving me alone in this sea of people. I spotted Drake and Naiyah but I didn't hesitate to not approach them.

I moved the opposite way as a matter of fact.

My packaged lunch was inside my bag and I navigated my way around the campus. Looking for a bench under a shaded area.

It wasn't too difficult to find one. So I took my seat and began eating in peace.

I was oddly serene. Maybe because I was slightly convinced this world wouldn't always have death aimed at me. That I could become a Protagonist and rise up to the challenge.

It's obvious, really. The things that happened in the novel were all plotlines and mostly centered around Kairos so maybe I wouldn't always get pushed in those forsaken-

Slowly dropping my fork down, I swallowed nervously when a white haired fellow appeared in the corner of my sight. Silently, blending into the surrounding like he didn't exist.

In the name of all things nice, when did this guy appear?!

Eyes staring wide at Kairos, I noticed he was doing the same. Staring back at me. Intensely at that and it made me squirm uncomfortably on my seat.

Being this close to Kairos set alarms in my head and I could see the Protagonist halo vividly.

Looks, check. Body, check. Aura, check. Unique eyes, check.

"Admiral," I nodded and stood up robotically, attempting to move somewhere, where my heart could find uninterrupted peace.

Picking up my bag, holding my food in one hand.

I attempted to move forward. Uncaring if my obvious distancing was rude.

Attempted.

Just as I raised my leg forward in a hasty pace, a strong hand clutched my left arm.

"It's a bit rude to just leave like that, don't you think so?"

I heard Kairos' voice from behind. It was deep, sexy and smooth. And seemed to be my favorite sound now.

I could hear an underlying warning in those words- taking off the playful tone he used.

A predator lazily watching it's prey.

Ah, the things a voice could do to my brain. And the things the owner of such voice could do to my life.

<"Would you prefer I skin you, burn you or poison you?">

A scene from the novel flashed in my head. Kairos interrogating an assassin and staying true to his words by whichever option the poor guy was forced to choose.

Gah, damn. Really the same dude holding my hands.

I shivered. Unsure if it was from fear or... excitement? I turned around slowly, ignoring the heat from his hand that stayed softly on mine. He'd loosened his grip seeing my action but still didn't drop it.

Something about the prospect of this extremely attractive dude pouring his focused attention on me made my maiden heart thump. Although that attention might kill me...

I might be sick, really. And this world is sick too, not surprising. I'm officially a sick inhabitant.

I watched Kairos stand slowly, letting my hand fall limply as his height towered over mine. I could see his muscles underneath the white button up shirt. It wasn't the champion weight lifter kind of muscle but it was obvious. His frame was definetely wider than mine by a far margin.

His waist being sexily lean it almost made me want to work out too.

I trailed my eyes down and remembered I was checking out Protagonist-san.

F*ck.

Show off. Stop posturing!

"I don't remember seeing you anywhere." He said, evaluating me in a way that made me more than conscious.

Jael, you nuts. How can you be excited?!

I stayed silent, unwaveringly staring into his golden eyes.

"Sir..." I cleared my throat. "I'm a freshman of Ultra University. And... There are thousands of students on campus- I, I don't think I've seen you much, too."

It was surprising I could say something logical or not follow the party noises in my stomach.

Jabli~ jabli~ jabli! Shake that intestine, feel the beat momma!

What- I dazed off for a second while Kairos watched me blankly.

Soon a smirk appeared on his face.

And I kinda had the urge to wipe it off with the floor.

"I don't know who you are. And it could be a mistake on my part... But you're far too much of a variable to let be."

I almost rolled my eyes. Says the variable himself-

"Sir? Have I done anything wrong, sir?" I asked with feigned confusion.

He latched his hand on my hair and curled a tip, to which I smacked his hand off.

You're beautiful doesn't mean anything!

But you're a psychopath means everything.

I bit my lip as my thoughts ran. Keeping up with this sudden change is a miracle. A heart attack was expected right from the begining.

Kairos' eyes stayed trained on mine, except for the flash of his eyes to my lips. His expression unchanged except from the slight cold smile that hung on his lips.

"Be obedient, and you wouldn't be found dead."

I took a shakey step back.

Baka!

"Threatening students isn't a hobby, is it?"

"No. Eliminating threats is."

And in a flash he was gone. Like that didn't happen and I didn't just get myself on the 'soon-to-be-killed' list.

Hurray today is great.

So. Kairos found me suspicious. I had a scenario such as that placed in the back of my head- and it was one of the death, dead or die ending. A multiple options outcome.

How could he have noticed? When? How? Why? My only interaction with him was in... That, the first day I transmigrated.

"Konah, did anything specifically happen to Kairos in the original plotline? During the day of my arrival?"

It'd be easier to notice an abnormality if that day was engraved in his heart. But why? It's just a normal attack, isn't it?

'Good day, Master. To your questions, yes'.

"What?"

Panic gripped my heart.

'It was the day of...'

.

I was exhausted. Mentally. And physically. I stayed at home for a year without exercise and suddenly getting back on my feet on campus was tiring. And worse with how exhausted I was mentally.

I went back to my dormitory, took a bath before changing into my battle suit.

Alchemy class was like a science lab and I'd need that if something was going to explode. Students were advised to use battle suits during alchemy class. The helmets would be given by the teacher during class sessions.

I and every other student attended the class with our battle suits. However, for the time being it was theories. A week or two would be the start of our practicals. And for that, I was paired with a black-haired vampire. His name is Aiden.

Of the few minutes we were given to get familiar with out partners, I and Aiden clicked in a normal way. But the guy was a bit too interested in staring at my neck and sprouting random things about blood, bleeding and human blood. Especially after I mentioned being human.

Apparently human blood was rare these days and they were the most delicious- scratch that, everyone is a bloody psychopath and I. Will. Not. Associate. With. Sh!t.

I left alchemy class with a despondent look, wondering how to switch partners.

I sighed. Aniysa and I met up in a coffee shop and we talked about a lot of things. Minus Kairos.

I'm glad to have a werewolf girl know a bloodsucking fellow might be the reason for my disappearance if ever I'm missing.

"I have news to make you happy! You like gorgeous people, right?"

"Mm." I said sipping my milk filled coffee. Eyeing the brand on the can.

"Well! I know two hot guys and one super hot guy attending your combat class. 33A right? Upsilon?"

"Yeah."

"Wonderful. Elan Novak- blond hair blue eyes, Pearce Anderson- Brown hair green eyes and Kairos Athanasius! Your very own instructor."

I froze.

Goldie- Kairos, might eliminate me. And isn't it just fun-f*cking-tastic to be at the epic center of deadly plots?

Yay.
