Chapter 9: The Wrath of the Enemy
The Lantern System was now heavily fortified, with new ships and upgraded defenses. However, the enemy was still lurking, waiting for the right moment to strike. John knew that they needed to be prepared for the worst.
He called a meeting with the rest of the team to discuss their strategy. "We need to build a stronger defense, something that will make it harder for the enemy to attack us," he said. "I propose we start by upgrading our ships and making them more agile."
The team agreed, and they started working on a new ship design that would be faster and more maneuverable than the previous ones. They also added in a matter transporter and beaming technology, which would allow them to transport themselves and supplies quickly from one location to another.
As they worked on the ships, they discovered that the dance that powered their ships could be improved. They found a way to make it more efficient, which would make their ships faster and more powerful. They named this new dance the "Lantern Dance."
John was impressed with the team's work and gave them his approval to start building the new ships. They built a total of 20 new ships, each one with the Lantern Dance powering it. They called this new class of ships the "Wrath" class, a testament to their readiness for war.
Once the ships were completed, the team began training the crew on the new technology and weapons. They knew that they needed to be prepared for the Wrath of the Enemy.
During their training, they received a distress signal from one of their allied planets. The enemy had attacked and was quickly advancing towards their planet. The team knew that they needed to act fast.
They quickly assembled a fleet of ships, including the new Wrath class, and headed towards the allied planet. They engaged in battle with the enemy, using their new ships and technology to gain the upper hand.
The battle was fierce, but the Lantern System team was able to repel the enemy and save their ally. They returned to their system victorious, but they knew that they couldn't let their guard down.
John addressed the team, "We may have won this battle, but we need to be ready for the next one. We will continue to improve our technology and training, so we can be prepared for the Wrath of the Enemy."
With that, the team went back to work, knowing that their fight was far from over. They were determined to protect their system and their allies from any future attacks.
