"Alex," Douglas called out as he held onto Emily, the latter still raving with her hands covering her ears.
She was in pain, her expression showed that much and it was clear that leaving her in such a state would end in unsavory consequences.
Time was of the essence if they wished to save her.
"Alex!"
"What?" Alex was hardly pleased to be jolted from his thoughts as he glanced at Douglas.
"... You knew about the baby?"
Alex hesitated before letting out a resigned sigh. "I thought it was gone."
"Damn it, how could you make such a mistake!"
"Don't even think about it," Alex remarked without hesitation.
Douglas was hardly about to back down. "If you saw her as your sister, you would have confirmed if the baby was still in her but no, you left because you couldn't be bothered to know if she was okay."
"You'd best not overstep your boundaries." Alex coldly said.
