Chapter 30 - The Gig Of A Lifetime

In a dimly lit, underground hideout, within the paint job factory, the core members of the Iron Clawz gathered around a table, eyes shimmering with anticipation. Rach: the sexy bartender, Dorion: the perverted ex-enforcer with a thing for flatlines, Michel, Drake: one with connections to different fixers and can get any item sold incredibly fast. He's also known for his strength which gained him recognition from various mobs, and there's Sleuth, the Monstrous ripper.

She has about 4, 7, or maybe fifteen cyberware installed. No one knows for sure but she was like a true meat grinder. It was even rumoured amongst the gang members that she has the strength to rival a true Altered!

Of course they were just rumors. Altered are stuffs of legends, it's impossible for an augmented human to rival those monsters.

At the corner of the room Michael sat with his fingers drumming nervously on the metal handle of his chair.

Steelz, the crazy loud but stern leader of the gang, loomed at the head of the table, his imposing figure cast in shadows that seemed to dance to the rhythm of the flickering neon lights.

"Listen up, chooms," Steelz began, his voice gravelly and commanding. "We've finally got a decent gig."

"Not the regular run of the mill type but a huge gig."

Staring straight into  their eyes, he continued "We're finally going to pay a visit to those corpo scumbags uptown, nexus: the Tzokomani corpo."

The instant the gangs heard this, everyone's breath immediately increased and their eyes flashed with various expressions. It was unknown of it was from fear or from excitement.

Rach, the sexy bar tender and net runner genius with a penchant for skepticism, leaned forward, a frown on her face as her crimson eyes eyes scanning the holographic blueprint hovering above the table.

"Steelz, you sure about doing this? We've always stayed in our lane and never involved our selves with the Corpos.

Moreover, the Tzokomani? They ain't no pushovers amongst the Corpos. They're packing state-of-the-art security, top-notch surveillance, and guards who've been juiced up with enough combat mods to take down a small army. Are we absolutely certain we want to dive headfirst that way especially their den?"

Listening to her words, the four others also nodded their heads in agreement. While it might be fun to mess with the corpos they surely aren't no joke.

Steelz locked eyes with Rachel, giving a smirk as he answered her doubts. "Rachel, we ain't one to back down from a challenge. And our client's paying a mountain of eddies for this job. We've got an inside source who's gonna get us past the employee entrance, easy. Once inside, we'll have the element of surprise."

The leader in his early thirties folded his arms and raised his thick, bushy eyebrows at Rach while saying. "We also have you right? Trust me, we're as prepared as we can be. Unless you're saying you can't access their server?"

Rach's beautiful lips pursed into a smirk as she snorted cutely. "I haven't seen anything I can't hack into yet."

Dorion, the inside enforcer within the the gang that had bought the BDs from Michael previously, chimed in, his voice laced with a healthy dose of concern. "But what if we get caught, boss? Those corpo jails are a one-way ticket to freaking hell boss. Are we ready to face that?"

Steelz nodded slowly, his fingers drumming rhythmically on the table,  his face showing confidence. "Getting caught is not an option. We've got a tight exit strategy, preparing for every situations without loop holes. We slip in and slip out once we've got the package, we'll vanish into the night like faded smoke before the corpos even realize they've been hit."

The room descended into a contemplative silence as the gang members mulled over the plan. Uncertainty hung in the air like a thick fog, but the Iron Clawz knew one thing — their leader Steelz, had never put them in a tight situation without getting them out if it.

Michael's eyes flashed in contemplation. Clearing his throat. "Boss, I get that the payout's huge, but what's this package we're grabbing?"

Steelz regarded Michael words with a shake of his head. "New blood, sometimes in this line of work, you don't ask questions. You do the job, get paid, and move on. That's how we survive in Neon City. Besides, our client is as discreet as they come. They've got their reasons for keeping it under wraps."

This time, it was Sleuth who interjected. "You don't think it's some top grade militech typa shit? Some things like that can easily place us in trouble with the entire Neon city. The pay might just be barely enough to shut some mouths and bribe some rat enforcers. There might not be enough to fill our pockets."

Steelz's eyes gleamed with a weird glint. " Don't worry, Rach's gonna cover our asses. And as for the money not being enough, it's precisely why I accepted the job. Because, we are not only grabbing the item but raiding the entire lab!"

The entire members immediately inhaled in shock and excitement. A secret facility of Tzokomani, one of the top seven Corporation within Neon city. It would undoubtedly contain many treasures, military grade cyberwares as well as genetic material of evolved grade!

Items like this could sell for astonishing amounts of credits out there, even on the black market. As long as ine was careful, they would instantly be rich. Successfully raiding an entire secret facility of Tzokomani, they wouldn't need money and even need to accept gigs for a long while.

"As expected if the leader, it's only you who knows us and can think throughly of maximizing our gains." Rach's red lips parted and she chuckled.

"The reward is rich, we've got the skills, the nerve, and the firepower to pull this off. This job, when we are successful, it would take us to the big leagues."

Excitement and anticipation began to replace the earlier uncertainty among the five gang members. They were a tight-knit family, and they trusted Steelz implicitly. But this mission was different. It carried a weight they couldn't ignore, a sense that their lives were about to be forever altered.

As the gang members continued to discuss the plan, Michael's thoughts were running wide.

The facility would contain rich metal esscense as well as high grade genetic materials! He certainly would jot miss this opportunity to earn units and make himself even stronger.

They had been through countless heists, raids, and turf wars, but this felt like uncharted territory.

Steelz suddenly spoke. "Listen up, Clawz. We've been through hell and back together. We've faced other gangs, taken their territories step-by-step until we final reached this stage were we are feared. We've thrived in the face of chaos. This job won't be just any battlefield and won't be easy, but when have we ever backed down?"

Doriod, the towering enforcer, cracked his knuckles, a grin forming on his rugged face. "I'm in, boss. Let's show those corpos no 'mount of security could protect their valuables."

Michael, felt a surge of adrenaline and excitement coursing through his veins.

Steelz raised a thick pillar like hand, signaling their unity. "Then it's settled. We move in an hour. Prepare yourselves, Clawz. Tonight, we snatch from the demons."
