Chapter 8 - Pain That Makes One Beg For Death!

The itch was so extreme as he felt himself reach his limits.

His DNA sequence were being destroyed and reconstructed repeatedly by the Nanobots. His DNA rapidly started getting stronger and denser by every deconstruction and construction made by the bots.

The double helix shape DNA hardened and thickened under their guidance. Michael's body slowly started turning red which is a sign of his organ and genes in a type of overload.

His genetic structure was about to reach it's limit and if this continues, his cells would die and his entire gene would collapse. Michael's body was simply to weak for a procedure as thorough as this.

If the nanobot doesn't stop anytime soon, his body, cells and DNA would be overworked and his entire body would immediately collapse into a puddle of blood, there's only so little tempering the genes could handle before they collapse.

The pain was indescribable, each nanobot working its way through his cells, destroying them and merging with them to form an entirely new different cell and DNA structure. Michael's body convulsed with each passing moment as the nanobots rewrote his genetic code, bringing him to the brink of collapse.

He could feel his body starting to shut down, his organs failing as the nanobots pushed his genetic structure beyond its limits. The pain was unbearable, his screams echoing through the empty lab as he fought to stay alive.

His body spasm on the ground, scattered items prickling through his body drawing a considerable amount of blood along his body  but he didn't even notice that. His hands kept trying to hold on something, anything at all.

A tread of sentient overcame the pain. Observing his situation like a spectator, he knew his body would never be able to handle such torture.

He realized that his body was not equipped to withstand such biohacking. Exhaustion crept in as his body reached its limit. His skin cracked as the Cell collapse started.

Death seemed imminent in the next few minutes unless something was done.

His gaze was inexorably drawn to the vial containing the untested cell-regenerative stim he had meticulously crafted. A dangerous idea popped into his head, fueled by desperation and the recklessness.

A daring notion began to crystallize in Michael's mind. What if he were to employ the healing serum as a countermeasure against the relentless exhaustion that was overtaking him? The ongoing cellular manipulation was sapping his energy and vitality, but the healing serum held the potential to fortify his cells, infusing them with the vigor needed to withstand this grueling ordeal. It was a high-stakes gamble, but desperation compelled him to entertain the possibility.

Gritting his teeth, he ignored the intense pain and crawled towards syringe inch by inch. He could feel his energy slipping away and his vision darkening as he moved. An average adult within the slum would have given up at this point and let the pain consume him or her but Michael wasn't the average person.

He awkwardly grabbed the syringe with his mangled fingers and stabbed the syringe directly on his neck.

"Tsssh!"

The administration of the serum was fast. The serum was immediately sent into the blood stream. The second the serum came into contact with his blood, it was as though his cells had been injected with a very high radiation liquid.

His cells instantly burst into a spontaneous growth sprout that had no intension of stopping! As though his cells had been injected with concentrated steroids, they began to be filled with massive bio energy as they grow and grew larger.

Michael's face changed drastically and his pale face lost all blood. In the next second, his neck began to swell, expanding to the size of his head. Second was his shoulder legs and hands.

He had made things even worse!

This time though, Michael knew he was done for. With no hope of surviving, he could only await death and hope for a swift one, it was really a torture to go from bad to worse.

Suddenly the nanobot working on his cells seem to have noticed the increase in his increased cell activities and energy level.

Previously, scanning and noticing the low-life level of Michael, the optimizer had limited their activities to the lowest degree to reduce risk of killing it's users but yet, Michael's cells weren't strong enough to endure the labour.

However, with the massive boost from the untested serum, his cell were rapidly rejuvenated, bursting with massive energy that his cells grew beyond their genetic limit, causing mutation like a cancerous cell.

Noticing this, the nanobots immediately activated at half their working power, firing up intensely, matching the rate at which his cells were rapidly growing.

The speed of dismantling of his cell structure increased violently. This in turn immediately stopped the cells from overgrowth, spending that energy instead to support his cells from breaking down instead.

As the tempering and construction continued, Michael felt the pain reduce a little with his now energised cell. But it felt like he was in hell,

It was his personal Hell.

Michael's body was saturated with energy. The nano bots were working fast now, his DNA sequence and his gene codes were being destroyed and reconstructed over and over again making them studier and more unlikely to be destroyed easily.

Just when he thought he had gotten used to this pain, a sudden pain tore through the depth of his soul. He felt as though a layer of hot lava was working through his depth.

'I jinxed it!!'

That was Michael's last thought before his mind was drowned with treacherous and endless pain.

Then, with a precision that defied comprehension, the nanobots merged themselves with fragments of his biological cells, crafting an entirely new breed of cell composed of a fusion of both tissue and metal.

Half of his DNA remained rooted in his genetic material, while the other half had morphed into an amalgamation of pure metal. It was a breathtaking transformation that defied the boundaries of conventional science.

The newly formed cells were noticeably smaller than their original counterparts, yet they boasted an unparalleled resilience and brimmed with an unprecedented reservoir of power.
