Chapter 13 - Nightfall II

Our car and all others in the vicinity zoomed toward the portal leading to the separate dimension that housed Nightfall Academy.

A strong wave of turbulence came as soon as we flew through the abyss-like portal but before we could even begin to start flying around the car from the momentum everything turned back to normal as gravity did its work.

Getting a grip of myself I walked towards the window to look outside and my eyes widened in disbelief at the magnificent sight I saw.

It was right here that I realized why Nightfall had its separate dimension, the campus alone was as big as a city. By its size, it could even be compared to the Royal Capital.

In the sky was a massive floating city held in place by obsidian chains glowing with golden runes that I couldn't even read. There were skyscrapers, plazas, and flying vehicles in abundance here, it was hard to believe that such a place existed, even in a fantasy world.

It was just something you had to see with your own eyes.

My intrigue slowly faded to my usual indifference as I looked past the beautiful city and was reminded of all the shit that would happen in the arc alone, let alone the story.

Damn, let's just hope I can get through orientation peacefully at least.

...

...

...

Stepping out of the car after landing in the courtyard of Nightfall, I took a closer look at the prestigious yet infamous academy.

Not going to lie, if I didn't know about the shit that was going to happen here I would probably be acting like the losers that were standing around me just gawking at the place in awe and confidence.

These people are most definitely thinking about some generic shit right now. How they're going to bring glory to their family, how they're going to make a name for themselves in this academy, and other boring nonsense. While those thoughts would change as time passes, I still find it hilarious that they're even thinking like that.

My siblings and I went our separate ways as soon as we landed at the academy. It was for the best to be honest, I was too weak and couldn't put it past them to already have a trap set up for as soon as we stepped foot into the academy. I took my father's warning to heart.

They went to the V.I.P. section of the academy since they were upperclassmen at the academy so they didn't need to go through orientation.

"Zaire Tiji," a stern yet enchanting voice called out, causing me to turn towards to source of the callout, landing my eyes on a woman.

As soon as my eyes landed on her I knew she was out of my league. She was dressed in black military robes adorned with medals and a red aiguillette that went around her shoulder. Her uniform heavily complemented her blood-red hair and eyes. Honesty even with the uniform she looked more like a Demoness than an instructor at such a prestigious academy.

But while I looked like a normal unsuspecting student, as soon as I landed eyes on her a feeling of recognition flashed in my eyes but I quickly made it disappear.

Name: Giana Crimson

Age: 47

Race: Vampire

Affinity: Blood

Bloodline: Pale Blood

Yep, that's most definitely her. No doubt about it now.

Giana Crimson was a major character in Blood of Darkness. She was the master of the True MC of the story. She was a monster by every standard. If there was someone that I didn't want to piss off, it was her.

The system couldn't even estimate her power, it didn't even display it in question marks.

Giana was a war hero and one of the most powerful vampires on the continent. Vampires were among the top five strongest races in the world of Neo-Oblivion. But unlike what most think, their pale skin wasn't a defining trait for the vampire race. There were plenty of vampires that had my skin tone so unless you had very high senses and could perceive the aura of someone it was very hard to tell the race of someone.

"Here," I responded and walked my way to her.

I'm not going to lie I was nervous walking to her and that feeling only increased as I got closer feeling the bloodthirsty aura that radiated around her.

Yep, she's a Vampire alright.

Stopping in front of her Giana looked at me and gave me a smile filled with interest, "Being able to stand in front of me and withstand my natural aura is very impressive. An intriguing surprise from the bastard of the Tiji Family."

"Honestly, does me being a bastard even matter?" I asked, already bored of me being here.

"To the aristocracy of society? Of course. But in my eyes? Fuck no." Giana responded.

I frowned in confusion, "Then what was the point in calling me a bastard?"

"To see your reaction," Giana answered. She turned around and began to walk into the building, "I have to say that I'm impressed by your indifference. I expected you to be like the usual and generic arrogant young master. But it seems that this group of freshmen will be interesting after all."

"Huh? Why do you say that?" I asked, already having a strong feeling that I wasn't gonna like her answer.

"You and a good amount of other students have given me this weird feeling every time I look at you. The feeling is not dangerous nor uncomfortable but it still feels weird." Giana began to explain.

"Weird?" I questioned, "What do you mean by weird?"

"Weird as in: There's something more to the person than meets the eye and not only does seem to draw interest but also further investigation. In the good way of course."

"I don't think there's anything good about being investigated by other people," I said.

"True but there's also a small group within that group of special students that give me a distinct yet unique feeling from all the other students. Each student gave me a different feeling and based on that in combination with their backgrounds we've decided to put them in a special class. You will be a part of it as well." She explained, dropping news that had my head reeling and was taking everything in me not to curse and pass out from stress.
