School had ended half an hour ago but not for me for I still had to do 10 laps around the playground. I was running the third lap but my chest was hurting. Deciding to give a short rest to my lungs I stopped trying to catch my breath. It felt like Jaesung had again beaten me up because my whole body hurt. To make the matters worse, I was getting dizzy. My temperature had probably risen.
I didn't see Minseok or Jaesung today so that might be the only good thing that happened at school. Just thinking of Minseok gave me goosebumps. I couldn't forget the feeling of his that crawled on me...
Mom did say that she would be home early tonight so I decided to pick up pace ignoring the ache in my body. I saw the students chatting and playing around. Probably leaving to attend the academy I sighed in disappointment. I too wanted to make friends but I can't now... It was much more difficult to resist the urge to join the academy because it cost a fortune. I can do just as well with extra classes anyways.
It was nearly an hour now since school ended most of the teachers had left and there were barely any students present by this time. This school being too big is like a curse for me. I was running the sixth lap but my ears were ringing and my vision got black. I could feel my heartbeat in my head.
I-I don't think... I can continue...
It felt like my legs had lost their strength as my knees buckled and I collapsed on the ground.
(Author's POV)
Ms. Min, a math teacher in 12th grade, was about to leave. She was in a hurry to meet up with her friends at a get-together when she saw Junseo limping to finish the laps. Reading his body language she doubted if the young boy was well.
When she noticed that he was an Honor student, she was about to leave when she saw the boy collapse. Her eyes enlarged and she ran to check up on him. She checked Junseo's forehead only to find that he was burning up. Her attempts of waking him up by patting his cheek were useless.
"Hey! Kid, wake up!", she looked around and saw a student from her class. "Sehun-ah!", she shouted calling the tall male. "Can you take him to the infirmary? I need to leave for an important meeting. I'll tell Mr. Lee (P.E. teacher) about his condition. Also, make sure he gets home."
Sehun couldn't refuse his teacher's request and with that, Ms. Min left the two boys.
The older boy gazed at the younger with pity in his eyes before lifting him on his back. Sehun knew who Junseo was thanks to Daejung's 'popularity'. In Sehun's eyes, Junseo was an intelligent, kind, and handsome young man. Which sounded too flawless to him. So what if he was poor? At least he wasn't arrogant like some rich kids!
The older boy laid Junseo on the bed for the nurse to check up on him. The nurse concluded that the younger had fainted due to high fever and exhaustion and would wake up soon enough. Sehun sat beside the bed patiently waiting for the boy to wake up. He texted Jongsuk 'Wait for me. I'm coming in sometime. If you leave you're dead meat!'
Soon enough he received a reply from Jongsuk, 'Geezz Be quick hyung! I have a photo shoot in an hour!!'
Sehun left him on seen. Reading some online books on a hospital, business, and surgical equipment he waited for the younger to gain consciousness.
About ten minutes later Junseo fluttered open. The older boy noticed and asked, "Are you feeling alright? You fainted in the playground."
"I'm feeling much better. Thank you for bringing me to the infirmary, sunbae", Junseo lied sitting up. He wasn't feeling better whatsoever but he was grateful for the older boy to have helped him and not turned a blind eye to the situation.
'Oh, it's the extra large Bunny...!' Thought Junseo even though he was a bit late to realize.
"Ms. Min asked me to get you home so let's go. My friend is waiting.", Sehun said taking his bag along with Junseo's.
"It's alright, I can manage on my own, sunbae", Junseo said attempting to catch up with the older's pace.
Sehun observed him from the corner of his eyes and grinned, "It's no big deal. Call me 'hyung' when we're not at school."
"Oh... Okay...", Junseo felt sudden shyness take over him. His cheeks felt hot and he blamed it on the fever instead.
He was glad that the school had emptied by now and someone finally gave him a friendly smile. Junseo insisted on carrying his own bag but Sehun denied him.
Reaching their car, Junseo opened the door only to be met with a familiar excited face.
