Chirping came from the forest, Needle-like leaves, or petioles, shed vortices as the wind oscillates, creating the high-pitched whisper of conifers. Yet, it bored Ji Sung to the core.
"Damn those rascals." he sat on crossed legs, crossing his arm, flatly annoyed, watching the cave entrance. "I am not weakling, dammit. I can fight. I am like them, fellow Traveler."
They leave him behind. He hates being treated like a child. He can do Judo. He beats Jok-Pok early and fends off those wolves. Well, he was beaten too and almost dead, but he could fight. He could defend himself against danger.
Curiosity guided him. Ji Sung, being Ji Sung, crossed the bush toward the cave. He stepped on green liquid—a dead goblin, squishy green, with a butchered head.
"This is hardcore." He gulped and anchored there. Should he enter the cave or return to the bush? There was no one here. Their belongings were secure, perfectly hidden in the bush.
Besides, if they were angry, Ji Sung could just say he needed an Ormit stone in that cave. And he forgot to tell them that. They must be understood.
After gathering his courage, Ji Sung strode in.
From inside, the cries of battle echoed. Clank of the sword, the church of blood, goddammit, Jo Sung can't wait any longer. He shadowed, ducked, covering his nostril, and entered the stick-dimmed stone cave.
The battle—no, there was not a battle. They massacred a goblin.
Wedge is hacking Goblin's head like chopping a log with his great ax. His devil eyes shone red, and his face darkened as the green liquid sprayed on his clad armor.
Biggs's big belly jiggled as he ran, with a gigantic iron shield pummeling Goblin against the wall. It squished. "Never call me Fatso, Bitch!"
Titus whacked two goblins with his two swords and slashed them like there were autumn leaves.
Yuki sniped many goblins that tried to run, escaping. His bolts pierced their legs, not killing them.
"Yuki, aim for the head, you shit!" Wedge said as he chopped those lying goblins on the floor.
"He can't. He just can't. Brat just can't kill anything, you know." Titus blew as he rose from the pool of green blood. He caught his breath. "Hurry up. I want to return home fast!"
"You miss her, aren't you?" Biggs babbled. "I'm lucky being free, unlike you, sorry ass, caged in marriage."
"You never married. You never know what I felt. Besides, I don't want to miss my newborn on the first day."
"If you miss one, make another."
"stop tattle, you piece of shit." Wedge spit on the dead Goblin as he erased sweat on his forehead. "Yuki, come, do your duty. We have work to do!"
Yuki jumped from the high. Putting his crossbow at the back, he sliced the goblin's right ear. It would be proof of what they are doing. After done it, he dashed following the crew.
They are real pros at doing this. Perhaps they had a high level already. If Ji Sung joined them there, he would indeed become a burden.
He remembered the stone. But, he didn't know anything about that kind Ha Un asked. He never saw one in his entire life.
"Urgh, urgh." One goblin entered the cave carrying a bat. He gasped to find out what happened to his friend. Seeing Ji Sung, he charged with his bat.
Ji Sung leaped back, evading his smothering, then tortured his dagger on Goblin's lung. He tried blocking the blood that sprouted with his palm. It was easy, yet, he felt sorry. It is not like the game he usually plays. It is a real goblin, a living being. Ji Sung would become a murderer if he killed this poor snot.
"Finished up, finish him up," Yuki said. "Don't you torture him any longer? Have mercy, will ya!"
Ji Sung slashed his throat, and he fell dead. Soon, a pool of green sticky liquid appeared.
He pulled himself to bite. It's just a great hunt, just a quest. He is not a murderer. He is not. He is not.
//Level up!//
"Nice job." Yuki gave a thumbs up. "How are you feeling? Don't worry. Everything is alright. You stay there. At least until we cleaned the rest of this cave from Greenies."
"What should I do? I'm leveling up!" No answer. Perhaps Yuki was in a hurry and had no time to explain a thing.
Sitting cross-legged, Ji Sung opened his table system.
[[Hero Class System]]
"Hero Class System?"
He realizes this is not a game, not even on Earth. He wondered why there waa a level and system in this world. There must be a reason.
"What should I do now? Should I wait for Yuki? Or what?"
His eyes stuttered on [Hero System].
"What hero system anyway? Ah, fuck it. Okay, you ask to be pushed, aren't you?"
With a single push, the system was created. Ji Sung's eyes widened as he was astounded by what happened.
