Jiang Yue gave a polite nod, her usual cool tone softening just slightly. "Auntie Lin. I came to see Xiao An."
Auntie Lin smiled warmly. "He'll be so happy to see you. He's been quieter than usual lately. I think he misses you."
Jiang Yue's gaze flickered briefly with regret. "I've been busy," she said, her voice quiet. "Can I take him out for a few hours?"
The caretaker's expression softened further. "Of course. I know you wouldn't come if you didn't mean to spend time with him. Just have him back before dinner, alright?"
Jiang Yue inclined her head. "Thank you."
She walked toward the main building, her footsteps quiet but deliberate. Inside, the familiar sounds of children's chatter and the faint hum of a radio filled the air. Reaching the study room, Jiang Yue paused at the doorway, her eyes landing on the small figure bent over a workbook.
