7:00 PM, Vanguard Platoon
After dinner, the next two hours were officially designated for evening activities such as theory lessons or review sessions. However, with tomorrow marking the final day—and the much-anticipated competition day—the instructors had given the platoon free time. The only rule: lights out by 10 PM.
Jiang Xiu had just returned to her platoon's barracks after freshening up. As she reached out to pull aside the curtain-like door, she froze. Her name had just been mentioned.
"What else can we do? Gao Tian is stubborn as a rock."
"Honestly, we have a solid shot at first place. Most of us are athletes. She could've picked a different event."
"Exactly! Zhu Huan should've been in the target shooting contest. Have you seen that guy shoot?"
"Of course. He practically grew up with a gun in his hand. What do you expect?"
