"Why did that happen? Did she break some family rules or what? Who even locked a young lady in there for goodness sake?" Sylvia's eyes blazed with fury, causing the mother and daughter to drop their guard even more.

Carissa wiped the tears rolling down her cheek with her sleeve. "It is the Matriarch and Averil never did anything that was worth sending her to prison... She was very agitated at the disappearance of Aldrich and said some impulsive words to the Matriarch, so she decided to lock her up."

Sylvia's expression changed from bad to worse as she slammed the table, which didn't quite match her pure aura but it still showcase how angry she was.

"Averil is still young, and what she did was completely understandable for a young girl like her. It should be the Matriarch that should take it easy." She sighs softly in the end, however, there was another meaning behind her word.
