The trap for the intruder didn't take much to set up. After all the soldiers on the deck revealed their Abilities, Marcus was able to come up with a strategy to handle the intruder.
Marcus picked an individual with the ability to sense pulses. Though there were restrictions, he only needed to connect to the pulses of the crew. Secondly was a female, who could amplify others' Abilities. It was a terrifying Ability if paired up correctly.
He had placed the female, who could amplify Abilities by his side, along with the male who could sense pulses.
The man's job was to ensure all crew members were in perfect state, that way they would be aware if something goes wrong despite the dense fog, while the female's job was to amplify his Nature Ability. He only needed her to amplify the light he would manufacture at the right time.
From the conjectures he had come up with, the invader would likely come from the baseline. That is if only one existed.
If multiple Invaders existed, then they can just group up here and wait for their attack.
Marcus was not too worried about his enemy seeing clearly in this foggy atmosphere. After all, his Nature Ability could not disperse the foggy substance, proving its potency.
"I'll advise that we all settle down. We don't know who our enemy is and his level of power. Conceitedness is not something we need at this moment!"
Marcus sounded out his warning to the alliance force, causing them to tense up as they anticipated the fight.
Some even felt the battle had already been won. After all, through their coordinated attack, even a Level 6 Ranker would feel the pressure.
Alastros on the other hand, observed the situation calmly, not taking his eyes off the pulse reader. He was definitely an essential part of the ploy.
"I can hear something. Though distant, the footsteps sound unperturbed by the situation," A soldier with heightened hearing called out, not daring to move from the position assigned to him.
"Good job," Marcus applauded, a smile forming on his serene face. "Prepare to amplify the light sphere."
He conjured an orb of light, increasing as time passed. He had used the part of nature connected to light to form this orb, making it blend well in the surrounding.
The female suddenly stretched her hand forward, closing her eyes as she muttered under her breath.
The foggy area brightened a little, giving everyone a short sight of their surroundings. Not much changed on this part of the ship. The light only helped increase their morale as they saw Marcus' brilliant performance.
Creak
The sound of an opening door echoed in the distance, captivating the attention of the soldiers.
Strolling out of the baseline door was a kid, his white hair soaked in the blood of their companions.
He wore a red, fur coat with a simple T-shirt underneath it. His trouser and shoe were hard to describe due to their tainted state.
It was like a depiction from a horror, picture story—one that would leave both old and young in dread.
Marcus was flabbergasted and terrified by the scene before him. 'How could a child do this..?' He asked, questioning like the rest of the crew.
"You got a bright torch, huh," Stiles said, unperturbed by the alliance forces' reaction. He was only curious about the light that felt like the light from the sun—no sense of manipulation could be felt as if it came from the true source.
"Who are you? And why are you doing all these?" Alastros did not shy away from asking as he noticed the bright light flickering, followed by Marcus' flabbergasted expression.
Stiles pondered for a moment, before saying to the crew. "Stiles… Ruler of Kynburgh…"
He planned on eliminating them, so he saw no wrong in sharing his identity.
Klink
But immediately after his words, the soldiers lost their patience, preparing to take on the devil in the appearance of a kid before them.
'I sure didn't leave any chance for doubt in this matter…'
Recalling how everyone he told about his origin as a demon laughed at his words, Stiles revealed an amused smile.
Though he was not fully a demon, since his Mom was an angel. Traditionally, children took their father's name.
'Or should I call myself a hybrid—hmm, still lacking in a sense… I feel a sense of foreboding about that identity…'
Shrugging, Stiles squatted in one swift move, digging his legs into the ship floor as he prepared to take a quick leap to the closest soldier.
Swoosh!
Landing on a soldier's shoulder, Stiles snapped it in one fell swoop, using his body to defend against the incoming projectiles.
He could easily tell their trajectory, allowing him to move about with ease from soldier to soldier, giving them a painless death.
While Marcus' eyes widened in horror. Though their sight was still hindered, the light sphere in his hand provided a medium for him to notice the small figure, jumping from one tall figure to the other.
They were like flies, dying immediately after they came in contact. The guns were just like toys as he avoided them with his seemingly flawless movements.
'No! We were prepared… focus, Marcus…!' Marcus slapped himself with an imaginary hand, providing a physical response by shifting his head to the side.
Alastros, who stood quietly, observing the situation with scrutiny, noticed the strange behavior of the prince due to the light sphere in his hand.
'Is he suffering a mental breakdown…? Sigh….' Alastros shook his head before using his Ability to simulate a suitable path in this situation.
His ability, Pathfinder, could direct him through a string of events on the best possible path to take, at times even displaying it before him.
Though, as all Abilities, conditions, and restrictions existed. His was to get lost after forcefully using his Ability to display a direct path.
He didn't dare forcefully lay the direct path before himself. After all, he was currently located in the Mist Sea—getting lost was akin to death.
Immediately, he noticed a firefly that drew his gaze, venturing to Marcus's side.
'He is the path… my path to victory…'
Alastros felt a slight ache as he took the ax latched to his back, a deprecating smile manifesting on his masculine face.
"Are you ready for the big fight, Marcus?" Alastros deleted the 'prince' he had always used to address Marcus. "Or are you getting cold on your feet?"
Hearing those mocking words from the disgusting Burian, Marcus returned to reality, veins popping on his forehead.
"Liare…" Marcus called out, looking at the female with the amplifier Ability. "Do your best to assist… remember what you stand to gain by succeeding."
Marcus didn't dwell too much on the matter.
Since it was a fight, threatening the girl would not work out, so Marcus decided to use the carrot and stick method, providing reasons for the female to fight with all her might.
