Chapter 63 - Chapter 62: Problems in Edo

Ferdinand Pov

Edo, Capital of the Akitsushima Dominion, I look in wonder at the Japanese architecture that existed in this country, I was already in a car with Tanya, heading to where a welcome reception was expected for us on behalf of the government of the "Shogunate" of Akitsushima.

After confirming that the language they speak is the same as Japanese, Tanya became my interpreter when it was time for me to communicate with the people of the Akitsushima Government or anyone else in this country, even the man who welcomed us at the Airport was surprised that a little girl with a Germanic appearance could speak their language fluently.

"Let's take advantage of our days in Akitsushima to learn everything about them, then depending on the situation I will speak with the Dacian Ambassador in Edo to take our next steps" I said to Tanya who was in the car with me, with her nodding her head.

"I know that you don't need to repeat it," Tanya says to me as she looks at the streets of Edo seriously through the window, she must be expecting the worst.

Thank goodness I was now more prepared than when I had to deal with those terrorists, in my luggage I always had a Magic Rifle, as well as pistols in case I ran out of Magic bullets.

Our car soon arrives, and the Imperial Guards who were in the front seats open their doors and go to open our doors while bowing to us.

Getting out of the car, I see that we are already at the entrance of the Akitsushima Imperial Palace, with Imperial Guards from the Edo Palace, as well as several people who seem to be from the Shogunate government.

"Your Imperial Highness, Ferdinand von Rotenburg, Prince of the Imperium Daciae, welcome to Edo and as such to the Akitsushima Dominion, I am Nakamura Hiashi, Shogun of the Dominion" Hiashi said respectfully to Ferdinand, bowing to him, Hiashi's interpreter was going to translate for Ferdinand, until Tanya was faster and translated for him, which made him nod to Tanya before looking at Hiashi and bowing respectfully while speaking in Dacian.

"Your Imperial Highness, Prince Ferdinand thanks you for the welcome, he says he was amazed by the beautiful city of Edo on the way to the Imperial Palace, being impressed by the architecture of this Great Country" Tanya said calmly as she also bowed in respect to Hiashi, who was surprised that a little girl could speak the language of his people so perfectly.

"U-hum.... Thank you, please follow me, Your Imperial Majesty, the Emperor has prepared a welcome for Prince Ferdinand and his entourage" Hiashi said as he waited for Tanya to translate for him, who did, then Ferdinand nodded, with that Hiashi, along with the interpreter, Ferdinand, Tanya and the 2 Dacian Imperial Guards went inside the Edo Imperial Palace.

After walking a little through the corridors, where they passed through one of the gardens, they arrived at the great hall, where Emperor Asahi was in the center, sitting next to his wife Etsuko, until he stood up with his wife and bowed respectfully to Ferdinand, as etiquette says.

"It's a pleasure meet you, Your Imperial Highness, welcome to the Edo's Imperial Palace" Asahi said calmly, he then saw Tanya saying something to the Prince, he then bowed to Asahi showing the proper respect to the Emperor while speaking in his language, with Tanya soon bowing to the Emperor as well.

"Your Imperial Highness, Prince Ferdinand is very grateful for the welcome to the Palace, Your Imperial Majesty, as he said he was impressed by the beautiful garden and architecture of the Palace," Tanya said in a serious and extremely respectful tone, while still keeping her head lowered.

Asahi, along with Etsuko, while surprised by this, was also extremely pleased with Ferdinand's words that were translated by Tanya, seeing that the young Westerner in front of them was quite respectful.

"We have prepared a Welcome Banquet, as I am sure you must be hungry from the trip so-" As Asahi was about to signal for the servants to bring the food, everyone in the Palace felt a small tremor, as well as the sounds of explosions in the distance.

Just as Asahi was about to ask what was happening, Imperial Guards entered the hall to protect the Emperor, with an officer coming up to him and bowing to him.

"My Emperor! The Imperial Palace is under attack, enemies are surrounding the Palace!" The officer said with concern in his tone of voice, showing that the matter was urgent. It was then that an official from the Shogunate Government ran into the hall, with him going to the Shogun, bowed to him, and told him the situation.

"Mi'lord, the people surrounding the Palace are Socialists, they are carrying red flags with Marxist symbols, but that is not the biggest problem, they have some Majutsu-shi (sorcerers) with them!" The official said while sweating, showing that he quickly ran to warn the Shogun.

Tanya, who heard everything, translated for Ferdinand, who became serious and calculated scenarios in his head.

'Why the fuck are there Mages on the side of the Reds? Shouldn't they be considered enemies of the Proletariat or something? Are these Socialists by any chance wanting to follow their own form of Socialism?' Ferdinand thought seriously until there were sounds of gunshots and screams, showing that there was a fight and that there would probably be people entering the hall they were in.

"Tanya!" Ferdinand shouted to Tanya, who nodded and quickly took a pistol from her clothes, Ferdinand also took a pistol from his clothes, scaring those inside the Hall, with the Palace Guards almost pointing their weapons at Ferdinand, until Tanya spoke in the Akitsushima language.

"Your Imperial Majesty, don't worry, the Prince and I will only be helping" Saying that, Tanya was the first to leave the Hall, with Ferdinand behind her, the 2 Dacian Imperial Guards soon followed behind since they needed to protect their Prince.

"M-matte!" Asahi tried to stop them from leaving, after all, he couldn't let the Dacian Prince and his entourage die, but it was too late, they had already left.

Now with Ferdinand and the rest of his group, they saw Palace Guards shooting into the sky trying to hit the Mages that were flying, while at the entrance they tried to protect themselves from the horde of bloodthirsty revolutionaries that were advancing and shooting.

"...So, Tanya, are you ready to deal with this?" Ferdinand asked with a smile as he looked at Tanya, who looked at him with a smile too.

"They are Communists, I'll blow the shit out of them" Tanya replied with a mocking smile on her face, as if she believed that Communists and Socialists were not even considered people.

"HA, then let's go!" Ferdinand said as he advanced, with Tanya and the Imperial Guards right behind him.

Taking cover, Ferdinand sees some revolutionaries advancing, getting very close to the gate, he then points at them with his pistol and starts shooting, hitting 2 in the head and 3 in the chest, with Tanya not staying too far behind him and shooting at the others who were advancing, while the bullets that reached the duo were blocked by the magical shields formed by the Computation Jewels.

Tanya then saw in the sky a Mage who was aiming at her before firing a penetration spell, She then rolled out of the way before shooting the Mage, who didn't do much, she then clicked her tongue in anger for not having a Magic Rifle with her, Ferdinand then looks through the gate and sees that their car was still there, with several bullet holes, but still intact enough.

"I need to get to the car immediately!" Ferdinand said to Tanya, who nodded, our protagonist then advanced while Tanya provided cover, with the Imperial Guards distracting the other revolutionaries.

Ferdinand then opens the back door of the car and takes out two long suitcases that he had stored, he then runs back to where he was before, protecting himself from the shots while taking a deep breath before opening the suitcases, revealing that they had 2 Magic Rifles.

"Time to play a little!" Ferdinand said happily as he handed one of the Rifles to Tanya, while he took the other, with him then looked at the sky, more specifically at the Mages.

He then points his rifle at one of the enemies who was distracted by shooting at a Palace Guard, with Ferdinand casting a penetration spell that passes through the Mage's magic barrier, hitting him directly in the neck, killing him once and for all, with our protagonist starting to shoot more and more, getting more kills for himself.

Tanya also started shooting at the flying Mages, casting Explosion Spells against them. To not waste so much Magic, she used Penetration Spells on the Mages who were slower.

The Imperial Guards were helping the Palace Guards by shooting at the revolutionaries who were advancing, with them occasionally having to take cover. After all, they were not like Tanya and Ferdinand, who had Computation Jewels to protect themselves from normal shots.

The Ferdinand and Tanya duo then began to let loose on the battlefield, with the two of them shooting nonstop at the other Mages, with several suffering penetration or exploding. The Palace Guards and the Dacian Imperial Guards saw how the two had psychotic smiles on their faces as if they were enjoying the massacre they were causing against the Reds, little knowing that the two of them were simply giving in to the adrenaline they were feeling.

Over time, the numbers of the revolutionaries began to dwindle, until finally the Police and the Imperial Army from the nearby garrison arrived, and they quickly finished off the rest of the revolutionaries that were surrounding the Edo Imperial Palace, putting an end to the Red Scum who were attempting the coup.

With everything resolved, Emperor Asahi, Shogun Hiashi, and the Palace Guards went to where Ferdinand and Tanya were, and they saw the pair sitting calmly in a corner, with doctors checking on their conditions, even though it was not necessary.

Ferdinand looks at the Emperor and with a calm smile says something in Dacian, which Tanya, after pushing the doctor away for a moment, translates for the Emperor.

"Your Imperial Majesty, the problem has been resolved," Tanya said calmly as she returned to be inspected by the doctor.
