(Next day)
Eunwoo's POV
I'm pretty sure the unaffiliated kids will be attacked today. Should I help them? Hmm... Maybe I should but this builds a bond between the unaffiliated and affiliated ones. It would be better if I don't interrupt the plot. Somehow I'm getting a bizarre feeling about tomorrow's match... Now I wish I could see the future for real.
Jiwoo is out with the other kids, Kayden has gone sunbathing and Kartein resolved to continue my treatment. According to him, my legs would be in their normal condition in two more days. After the treatment, he proceeded to continue my training.
"So what new weapon have you thought of creating recently? I know you already have some in mind. Care to share?", he said leaning on the couch, now in his human form.
"You already knew? Well... I'm working on twin swords right now." I replied, "Mr. Kartein, I attempted something using your force control but I don't know how promising it is..."
He raised an eyebrow, "Why are you suddenly acting shy? It's okay for you to demonstrate whatever you've made to me. We can always work on it to make it reasonable."
"Okay... if you say so..."
I manipulated my force control and power to harmonize them. Stretching my arm forward, a long shiny, and golden chain came from my palm as it flowed in the air.
Kartein's eyes enlarged before he quickly composed himself. "You made good use of the force control. Can you move it as per your desire?"
I nodded and picked up a book using the chain.
He proceeded with, "That is sufficient enough. Let's work on making multiple chains at a time and strengthen them. You're doing very well for someone who just awakened. Don't be so hard on yourself."
I beamed brightly at his encouraging words. "Since I am your apprentice I ought to live up to your reputation, Mr. Kartein."
He smiled feeling pleased at my flattery. "You weren't fooling when you said that you will live up to my anticipations and bare the responsibility that comes along. It's okay if you let it misstep sometimes though. As your mentor, it's my responsibility to protect my apprentice."
"That's the kindest thing I've ever heard Kartein say", Kayden said coming into the room through the window in his cat form.
"No one asked for your interruption", said Kartein angrily. "Anyways, shoo now. Can't you see we're training?"
"Tch. But that chain was quite remarkable, kid. Did you see something about the future again that you're training so hard?"
He really can read me well sometimes...
"I didn't but I have an ominous feeling about tomorrow...", I answered.
Kartein lightly patted my shoulder. "You're just thinking way over your head. Just relax for some time."
I hesitantly nodded before resuming the training.
_____
(Next day)
Jiwoo and I were sitting in the audience along with The Four. The first match had started with Dale from The World Academy playing with the affiliated kid and mercilessly beating him up with just a single punch.
"The winner is Dale Pigarun!"
But just like in the webtoon, even after winning, he kept mocking our academy. That is when The Four finally stepped in with Gangseok going in first.
The first match began again and Dale was beaten up by Gangseok in mere five minutes.
"I'm up next", Jisuk claimed after the first match.
"Piss off. I'm going first-", said Subin but Sucheon had already stepped into the arena. Which annoyed the other two bickering kids.
Sucheon won the match with not even a scratch on him. The rest of the kids cheered in excitement as he returned back to the other kids.
Subin and Jisuk suddenly turned on their serious mode as the female spoke, "That was a fight between two villains."
"I guess the greater evil is bound to defeat the lesser evil."
Wooin stepped up next and defeated his opponent the moment the match began.
