Chapter 24 - District Nine

"Do you think…" A young man looked at his friend with his wide eyes full of anticipation and excitement.

"I don't know Mac… But the Invincible team had defeated Nine of Ten teams…" His friend responded with bubbling excitement, staring at the ring.

This kind of conversation could be heard throughout the arena as the crowd waited for the last team to arrive.

Nevertheless, the shock from the previous matches shocked them to the core. They thought even though Pablo was strong and his robot was undying, they believed he could only win three to four matches at best.

But now, they realized how wrong they were.

None of their opponents could last more than one minute inside the ring before they were defeated.

Furthermore, most of their defeated teams were mostly KO.

They were the elite guild in District Nine and yet they couldn't last more than a minute inside the ring with the clumsy blue and red robot.

Nightshade Town may look old and outdated but that was just only for the weakest and poorest district.

District Nine.

At the heart of the town stood the revered First District, a realm reserved for the elite.

Majestic mansions lined its meticulously planned streets, adorned with opulent gardens and shimmering fountains.

Here, the influential and affluent thrived, their lives a tapestry of luxury and privilege.

Beyond the First District, the character of Nightshade gradually transformed.

The Second District emanated an air of sophistication, hosting upscale establishments and exclusive boutiques.

Moving further, the Third and Fourth Districts embraced a vibrant ambiance, bustling with a variety of shops, bustling markets, and artisans showcasing their talents.

As one ventured deeper into Nightshade, the landscape transitioned into the Fifth and Sixth Districts, where the pulse of everyday life pulsed with a hint of grit.

Here, cozy dwellings intertwined with small businesses, reflecting the industrious spirit of the hardworking townsfolk.

The Seventh and Eighth Districts heralded a shift towards more modest living arrangements.

Narrow alleyways snaked through rows of humble cottages, bustling with life and community spirit.

These districts fostered a strong sense of camaraderie, where neighbors supported one another in times of need.

Lastly, the Ninth District, a dog-eat-dog district. A lawless place full of wanted criminals.

And where the legendary fighters sprout out.

Even though the Ninth District was known for their lawlessness and savagery.

But no one can chase away their love for the sport of robot fighting. The one thing that unite this district was their love for robot fighting.

They're die-hard fans of this sport and would support any team that came out of their district to no end.

They may be lawless and full of criminals but when they touch their reverse scale — Robot Fighting.

You see their other side.

Thus, the ruling government in Nightshade Town dare not touch robot fighting, allowing the district to wane out of time, leaving them to die in poverty.

Besides, since District Nine loves Robot fighting, the elite families stopped the inflow of fighter robots, leaving them only with junk.

Thus, the level of robot fighting in District Nine began to decrease with the passage of time.

And in a few years, the only thing that unites this district will be no more.

Hence, the elite family couldn't wait to see it happen.

But the sudden arrival of Pablo was changing the trend of District Nine.

To him, he was only trying to prove himself and show the world he was not a failure. Also to return to the city to fight for what belongs to him.

Unknown to him, District Nine had begun to gather under one banner, one voice, and one team — The Invincible.

"The last team has arrived." A voice shouted in the old arena.

Immediately, the attention of the crowd shifted to the entrance, and behold.

A group of people entered the arena with a calm expression on their faces.

The middle-aged man leading the group looked at the blue and red robot in the ring for a few seconds before he averted his gaze and looked at Pablo.

He nodded slightly and led his team to their corner.

Now, everyone in district nine knew Pablo's existence. He was now a celebrity and king in the hearts of many.

But if he wins this match, he would be a legend. Even his missing father never accomplished something like this in his heyday.

As for the last team, the Crimson Annihilator Team named their robot Annihilator.

Annihilator stood as an imposing figure amidst the steel and circuitry. Its towering frame, a testament to engineering ingenuity, exuded an aura of ruthless power.

Clad in gleaming armor plating, the metallic behemoth radiated an air of imminent destruction.

Every contour and line spoke of meticulous design, a perfect fusion of form and function.

Its limbs, forged from reinforced alloys, moved with a grace belying its massive size.

A middle-aged man dressed in loose clothing controls Annihilator into the ring with graceful movement.

Anticipation hung thick in the air as the audience fixed their gaze on the ring, the impending clash between two titans.

Whispers of curiosity and excitement echoed through the crowd as they eagerly awaited the match to begin.

This was like no other match. This was a showdown.

Can Annihilator stop the blue and red clumsy robot from attaining invincibility in District Nine?

Rather, could Pablo's creation attain the invincibility that he had set out to achieve?

This fight is the decider.

The referee entered the ring and raised his head to look at the tense atmosphere, full of anticipation and obvious excitement.

It had been a long time since District Nine had such momentum and the referee couldn't help being moved.

As a referee, it was his joy to ref a major fight and this fight was a fight that would go down in the history of District Nine.

And him being the referee was an honor.

Taking a deep breath he looked at the two fighters and asked.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes." Pablo nodded with a calm smile.

"Yes." The middle-aged man nodded, staring directly at Pablo with an expressionless face.

"Begin!"
