"Do you think I will give my life's command in your hands?" Cassey's eyes narrowed with suspicion when June bowed.
She could not argue with someone who did not listen.
Cassey covered her nose with her scented handkerchief before she started walking again.
Her heels were often stuck in the muddy road. She was sure it did not rain for long. Where the hell did this water come from?
Gritting her teeth, she somehow reached the small house only to see a pair of knights standing at the door and talking with a middle-aged woman with dark skin.
The woman looked worried. Her tear-stained face was pale and crumpled.
Hearing Cassey's footsteps, the knights turned to look to their left and the dark woman followed their actions.
"My lady," they wished her with a bow, "you are here?"
Confusion filled their gaze as they looked behind her but Mary was not there.
