Chapter 31 - The Uzumaki vs The Uchiha Hybrid

In a serene clearing surrounded by grass and trees, two individuals faced each other with intense stares. Menma Uzumaki, the elder twin brother of Naruto Uzumaki, held his purplish-black katana firmly, emanating an air of menace. Opposite him stood his opponent, Yeuri, with a calculating expression and fiery crimson eyes.

Yeuri assumed a defensive stance, with his two hands in front of him like a guard and his left leg slightly raised, tapping the ground rhythmatically. Menma's demeanor remained impassive as he shifted his right leg forward and lowered himself until his knee was lightly touching the grass. He tightened his grip on his katana and positioned his hands on his right side, ready for action.

The gentle breeze grew stronger, causing the trees to creak and groan louder, while the grass blades swayed gently. Yeuri's sharingan, featuring three tomoe, spun languidly as a smirk formed on his face. Menma lifted his pointer and middle fingers off the hilt of his katana, and the sound of a thousand chirping birds filled the air as lightning chakra crackled on the blade.

Yeuri approached Menma cautiously, his eyes fixed on his opponent's every move, ready to react to any sudden motion. Menma, on the other hand, stood his ground, carefully analyzing Yeuri's posture, searching for any vulnerabilities he could exploit while keeping a sharp lookout for any potential assaults.

Menma stayed low to the ground, feeling the damp soil beneath him. He watched carefully as Yeuri approached, taking cautious steps that made a soft crunching sound against the blades of grass in the clearing. Menma was alert and composed, making sure to keep himself both rigid and relaxed.

"Aren't you gonna attack? Hmm? black cat?"

Ignoring Yeuri's slight tease, Menma kept his mind clear and focused. With a smirk, Yeuri quickened his pace until he was within Menma's range. Menma responded by smirking back and slashing horizontally with his blade, the lightning crackling like a thousand birds. But Yeuri disappeared from sight, avoiding the attack.

Menma flipped backwards, avoiding a kick aimed at him from behind. Yeuri was slightly impressed, but Menma was ready for every move his opponent could make. The young Shinobi prepared himself for the next move in their fight.

Menma's sword clashed against Yeuri's forearm as he attempted to strike. Yeuri countered with a leg sweep which Menma effortlessly jumped over, using Yeuri's extended leg as a support to execute a backflip. Menma then threw a handful of kunai at Yeuri, who effortlessly dodged them.

As he turned his head to his left, Yeuri noticed Menma quickly closing in on him. Yeuri's Sharingan flared as he charged forward to meet Menma halfway. The two clashed, but quickly broke away as Menma rebounded, choosing to attack again with a practiced swing of his sword. However, Yeuri effortlessly dodged the strike with a knowing smirk.

Menma then increased the speed of his attacks, his sword crackling with electricity as he aimed to strike Yeuri's guard or catch him off-guard. Yeuri, however, easily evaded Menma's strikes and kicked him in the chin, momentarily stunning him. As Menma rebounded, Yeuri followed up with a high leg kick, striking Menma's arched fingers.

Menma jumped back and circled his opponent, but Yeuri remained still in the center, patiently waiting for his move. Their gazes met, Menma's oceanic blue showing hints of aggression while Yeuri's crimson iris remained calm and collected.

Menma summoned a clone with a swift cross formation of his fingers. The clone immediately rushed towards Yeuri, who remained unfazed, allowing the clone to collide into him and explode into a cloud of smoke, revealing Menma in mid-air with his sword charged with aggression.

Menma swung his sword towards Yeuri, who also disappeared in smoke. Menma failed to notice the direction of his opponent's movement and scanned the area for any signs of life, unaware that Yeuri was riding the clear blue sky, gazing down at him with an unusual smile before reappearing in front of him, catching Menma off-guard.

Menma delivered a backhand strike that landed on Yeuri's body, then he pivoted counterclockwise and plunged his sword into Yeuri's lower ribs. Following up with a heel kick to Yeuri's chin, Yeuri retaliated with a dropkick to Menma's stomach, pushing them apart.

Yeuri executed a flip to halt his movement, Menma did the same, quickly regaining his stance and keeping his eyes locked on his opponent, before charging towards him once more.

Menma shifted into more defensive stance, knowing that he needed to stand his ground no matter what happened in this fight. Pressuring the boy with a barrage of strikes, Yeuri smiled with childish glee at how Menma's eyes remained unwavering as he parried Yeuri's strikes. Yeuri threw a low kick which Menma dodged, back flipping then dashing back to Yeuri only to continue evading the strikes he received.

Throwing an elbow that Menma saw, he saw an opening and took advantage of it. Ducking low to the side Yeuri had left exposed while simultaneously dodging his elbow strike, Menma spun on an axis atop the grass as he he threw a piercing back heel kick to the unguarded liver of Yeuri.

Though, not at all expecting his leg to sink into the side of his adversary, Yeuri exploded in a huff of smoke as Menma fell to the ground. Scurrying to his feet before a foot slammed into his stomach sending him tumbling across the area his back slamming into and splintering a nearby tree as sparkles of spittle escaped his lips.

Feeling a stroke of pain shot through his body, Menma collapsed to the grassy floor below, a hand gripping his sword while the other clutched his stomach as he coughed uncontrollably, feeling just how much damage a simple kick from Yeuri caused.

'Dammit!' Menma thought as he reached to his feet, '...I need to take him more seriously.' Menma felt dark and eerie chakra emanating off his opponent, disastrous and unkempt with strokes of wild yet controlled aggression.

Menma trotted across the trampled blades of grass, steadfast and even with every stride he took as he made his way to Yeuri, his body teeming with ever present anger and resolution that was directed at his cocky adversary who for yet another time stood loosely on the grass, his scarlet eyes locked onto Menma's cerulean orbs.

"Oh? Instead of running away, you approach me? How very...brave, or foolish if shown from another angle," The Tomoe user teased, a callous yet detached smirk taking root on his maw.

"The trash cant take out itself," Menma retorted, A darkened purplish hue frothed off the shinobi, his body preparing itself as he inched ever closer to his opponent.

"Oh!? Then come as you like!" Yeuri invited, his tone teeming with excitement.

Menma dashed to the man, receiving a quick strike to his chin, only to burst into a sea of smoke, the white ash momentarily obscuring Yeuri's vision for Menma to make his move.

Weaving and condensing a mass of Chakra within his fingers as they came together in the form of a cross,

"Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

Menma summoned a sea of clones, covering the entirety of the lush green area within a 200m radius turning it into a desert as black as midnight. They all had but a single target...

Yeuri.

Yeuri's eyes spun in crimson galore, darting around his eye socket at unprecedented speeds, fending off the somewhat sturdy clones that refused to back down.

With the rasengan created, embers resembling that of the sun dripped off the surface of the orb of energy as it rotated in the palm of Menma.

As Menma charged Yeuri with his attack at the ready mixing with his clones, Yeuri's sharingan was easily able to sought out the real thing in the continuous stream of clones.

Body rushing the boy who skimmed across the grass, Menma, Dispersing every clone he had created, leaving only but a wall of smog all encompassing. The two were mere feet away from the other, their sandals crunching on the greenery beneath their feet.

Yeuri pooled chakra into his mouth, his cheeks puffing in preparation as Menma SHOT his arm forwards, inches-no, centimeters away from collision.....

Only for Menma to once again disappear in a head of smoke, leaving, forcing Yeuri to cancel the technique he too was about to use. At that moment Yeuri had left a small opening, Menma burst into existence with an altered look, the orb of chakra he once held now possessed a darkness that no light could reach at its center, a ring of pure, untilled flames dancing rapidly around the surface of the orb that tickled the sides of Yeuri, who's smile increasing with ever more as he heard the chant of a certain string of words, laced with power and aggression at the one to whom it was directed....

"Flame release: Great flame rasengan!!"

EMBEDDING the orb of highly condensed chakra into the raw side of his opponent, an intense uproot of the fire broke out within the forest clearing, shooting off an explosion akin to a bomb as the yellow flames erupted into the blue skies.

The shockwave of the attack knocking Menma a few feet, flipping though the air as he regained his balance, landing atop a the branch of a far away tree, the reflection of the flames dancing in his blue orbs as they dissipated, the clearing now but a shell of its former self, what was once lush blades of grass now scattered holes and craters surrounded by thick trees.

Upon his perch, Menma kept his sword at a readied pose, knowing the kind of craft the Sharingan wielder was capable of.

"That attack packed quite the punch..." The sweet words of the devil whispered into his ear. Menma felt the hairs on his back stand on end as a faint numbness spread from his fingertips encasing his whole body in tiny bumps of fear.

The Uzumaki blipped to another tree almost instantaneously his breathing almost hitched as he raised his sword defensively, his eyes narrowing, a heavy and indescribable feeling etched into his chest as his eyes ran over the figure of his adversary.

Yeuri was alright, not only that but he was completely unscathed, save for the few rips in his clothing. Menma almost couldn't believe what he was seeing. Did he miss? Was it a clone? Was his attack that weak? His brain went into overdrive trying its hardest to process the information that was undeniably factual.

"I mean it, if any of this were real, I'd have gotten a small nick on my skin." Yeuri spoke, the joyous ring in his tone snapping Menma out of his frozen stupor.

"Well, seeing as you're now using Jutsu's, it's only fair I respond in kind, correct?" Yeuri said, inflating his cheeks.

Menma knew that he had next to no time to escape this attack, darting though the trees trying to put as much distance between him and Yeuri as he could, his mind relaxed slightly as his thoughts strayed, 'His ability to vanish and negate any attack I throw at him... Could he and that masked man be related? They use the same move and are wielders of the sharingan...'

'Questions for later,' Menma thought as he continued to increase the distance between he and his opponent, 'Kurama, I need some help.' Menma said, after a few seconds he received no reply.

'Hey, kura-?' He attempted to call to his inhabitant once more but was interrupted by the bellow of Yeuri's chakra infused vocal cords.

Menma was 100% sure he put at minimum 500m between himself and Yeuri, yet he heard the shout at is they were right next to each other...

"Water release: Water Bullet Technique!!"

Snapping his head to the direction of the voice, Menma saw the surrounding collage fluttering in waves, he felt the Earth tremble at the sheer magnitude of the attack. Menma's eyes trailed from the base the sea of blue peaking at the sky, the color drained from his face as he stared into wall of blue, towered over the forest area.

A Myriad of elongated cone shaped spikes emerged from the water, immediately rushing and mercilessly demolishing all that stood in its path on its way to Menma.

The skyscraper of an attack spanned so high that he was unable to see where the wall ended, the sun glared at Menma leaving him unable to fully assess the danger as the spikes inched closer.

Leaving himself with almost no time to hide from the tsunami type attack, Menma shouted, "Earth release: Hiding Like a Mole Technique!!"

Before leaping off the branch of a tree, diving head first BARRELING into the soil where he forced his chakra to mold the earth around his figure, though, before he was able to fully submerge himself, the barely exposed foot of Menma was unfortunately too late to hide, as the sea of spikes rushed past him it ripping the young shinobi's leg off and taking it along, leaving the boy in a pained, bloody mess as he hid from the sounds of war rumbling above him.

With thirty seconds passing, Menma felt the vibrations of hell subside to nothing, swimming through the soil to the top of the Earth where he reemerged, gripping his footless leg in silent agony as blood gushed out mingling with the soil beneath, Menma gritted his teeth, pumping the rest of his chakra to the wound to minimize the blood loss

'FUCK! KURAMA I NEED HELP!' Menma pleaded to his tailed beast only to receive no response.

'Kurama! Now is NOT the time for this!' The Uzumaki still received no response.

"Ohhhh!" A voice rang out, "Looks like the bullets did a number on you," The words of Satan sounded next to the wounded boy, crouched next to his fallen figure as Menma looked to his side in pure horror, seeing that he was found yet again.

"H-how..." The bloodied gasp of life spoke from Menma, who forced his body to recover enough strength to escape... He just needed to buy some time.

"How?" Crimson eyes tilted along with the head of Yeuri, who placed a small finger to his chin.

"How... did you, find, me?" Menma clarified.

"Hmm? You still haven't noticed?" Seeing that the boy was silent, Yeuri's face shifted to that of honest joy, laughing as he clutched his stomach, selling the but even more collapsing to his back, kicking his feet in the sky whilst feeling his sides killing him.

"You, you still haven't realized?!" He laughed, soon his laughing fit subsided as he went eerily quiet.

Snapping into a stand, Yeuri placed his sandals to the head of Menma, placing a good deal of force on the enraged boy, Menma twitched confusing evident on his features as he tried to escape the crushing heel Yeuri had placed on his head. Though he was ultimately unsuccessful.

Yeuri's boot pressed hard into his skull, eliciting a crack in response to the force. Menma felt his head going numb from the pain, his vision clouded by black dots as his bones faltered collapsing due to the pressure in a bloody mess.

Yeuri's boot met the bloodstained grass, eventually Menma went limp his body, mind, heart and the rest shutting down....

Snapping his eyes open as he gasped for air, Menma's blue orbs dance in his head realizing he was back at the clearing as if he had never moved an inch since the fight had begun. His eyes settling on his feet, Menma saw that his missing appendage was still connected to his flesh, shifting his gaze scanning the area to see that Yeuri held a light smile whilst his gaze remained trained on Menma.

'Didnt I just-'

"KIT?!" A voice boomed snapping Menma out of his hazy delusion, "DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I'VE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU?!" The voice of his Tailed Beast shouted.

"What...?" Menma replied still confused.

"What is the first rule of fighting an UCHIHA, Menma?!" Kurama growled.

"Wait, what's going on Kurama?"

"Answer me Menma!"

"Never look them in the ey-"

Reaching the size of saucers, Menma realized what happened, why he was so disoriented with the world...

"You were under a genjutsu!/ You were under my genjutsu!/ I was under a genjutsu!" Menma, Kurama and Yeuri spoke in unison information the boy of the simplest yet biggest blunder he could make as a ninja.
