-The next day-
Temari awoke to an unfamiliar room and for a moment forgot she was in another village, she started to recall the events of the day before. She looked at the clock and signed, she got up and put on a white robe and went to the bathroom, she noticed that Menma's door wasn't fully closed and it was quiet... Too quiet.
She cautiously went to the door and peeked inside only to see Menma meditating as he circulated his chakra. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding and turned went to the bathroom, hoping he wouldn't just walk in while she was in there.
She did her usual morning rituals and had a nice hot shower. She liked that this village had alot of water so she could take a bath anytime she wanted. She remembered how she used to always take a shower when she stayed there during the exams.
She loved how the water was hot since in the Sand it was kept cold to regulate their body temperature, but here she could enjoy the heated water, it was one of the pleasures she liked about her new life. She took her time and when she was finished she walked out and saw Menma was leaning on the wall outside the door with eyes closed and arms crossed.
"I'm finished You can enter now." She said gesturing to the bathroom, he opened his eyes and noticed that she was only in a robe and her blonde hair wasn't in its usual pigtails, his mind started to stray afterall this was the closest he had been to a girl who wore so little clothing.
He knew that he shouldn't but he wondered if she was in underwear or not, he started to form a slight blush at the thought. Temari noticed how he was looking at her, she had seen boys give her the same look that is until they found out about her family. Her cheeks had a slight red tint as she felt a little exposed wearing just her robe.
Realizing he was staring for a minute too long he quickly slipped into the bathroom and closed the door, he entered the shower and thought.
'What was that feeling just now?'
'You like her.'
'Well, yeah she is pretty and I did have a thing for her, but it was just mild interest nothing much.'
'That's in the past, kit and you will be going through this alot more in the future.'
'True.'
He finished up his shower and got dressed, he went downstairs to see breakfast had already been set out, there was an awkward silence between the two.
When they finished they went to the Hokage's office where their team and her brother were waiting. Both of them stood infront of Tsunade's desk, she seemed to want to get the ceremony over with since she had alot of paperwork to do, she cleared her throat and spoke.
"Temari, do you accept your role as a Leaf Ninja, will you give your life for the mission and for the safety of the village? Do you swear by the Will Of Fire, your allegiance to us for the rest of your life?" She said in a serious tone.
Temari knew that what she decides on right this moment will decide the fate of her village, if she refused it would cause alot of trouble for her village, if she accepted it would mean that if she went back on her word she would be hunted down and killed. Though she didn't have much of an option.
"I swear it on my life, my honor and my blood."
Tsunade nodded and handed a form to her, Temari signed the form anuh s the Hokage stamped it to make it official that she was now a Leaf Genin. She passed it on to Shizune who signed as a witness then went to file it.
Tsunade then took a leaf headband from her drawer and passed it to Temari who took it and stared at it for a moment.'Strange, I would never even think I'd be a resident of another village much less the leaf.' She smirked and slowly undid her own from around her neck, she ran her fingers over the symbol sad that she would never wear it again.
She turned to Kankuro and outstretched her hand for him to take it. He shook his head and said." Dont bother I know you dont want to, so keep it... You know as a kind of keepsake." He said rubbing the back of his head, Temari gave a thankful smile as she placed it inside her pocket and tied the new headband around her neck, it was essentially the same the only difference was the symbol.
"Now then," Tsunade said, all eyes now on her, "The wedding itself will take place in 4 months from now on the 14th. I believe that should be enough time for Menma and Temari to get to know each other better." Tsunade said, now turning her eyes to the two Sand siblings."You two can visit at any time as you are her family and any officials that want to involved with the wedding are also welcome."
Kankuro nodded.
"Are there any questions?" Tsunade asked
"I have one." Temari replied
"Speak."
"What are the 'Duties' I'll have to do?"
Tsunade was impressed the girl had thought of that, she glanced and saw Menma and Tenya seemed to be in thought.
"The council agrees that they cant yet tell you your 'Duties' as you both aren't mature, however they did say if it is up to you when you feel the time is right." She said, glancing over at the boys. 'Menma and Tenya seems to have caught on.'
Temari nodded in understanding, she knew that she would have to produce at least one child, but it was nice to know they wouldn't totally force her.
After all neither her nor Menma were close to ready for a kid. She was happy that she could put it off at least, usually in the past the female or male was to produce a child as soon as possible.
"If that is all, you all can go now, Tenji, I'll want your evaluation of Temari with your team as soon as possible." Tsunade told him, he nods in response. Now everyone has left the office and leave her to finish her huge pile of paperwork.
-Outside the Hokage office-
"So how long will you guys be staying?" Temari asked
"Hmm... Maybe another day or so," Kankuro told her, "I mean, it is a long trip back so we might as well rest up and resupply."
"How about you spend some time with them?" Menma suggested, Temari seemed surprised and asked. "You sure?" He replies. "Yeah, why not?" He said, after all if he was in her shoes he would want to spend time as much time as he could with his family as well.
"Thanks." She replied
"But first, I want to see what Temari can do, when I'm done evaluating her she can spend the rest of the time doing what she wants." Tenji said
Kankuro and Gaara agreed and then they said their goodbyes.
-Team 5 training Ground-
Temari looked around the grounds still not used to the humidity in the environment, she was used to the hard ground. Though it wasn't bad so far, although just like Menma had warned her Tenya's looked as arrogant as ever, Yuko was cool headed and nice to talk to, Her new sensei came off as cold but she didn't mind.
Tenji looked at his team, although it was extremely rare to have four genin on one team, he was looking forward to what they could accomplish. He was curious as to how Menma and Temari were doing but he didn't want to pry into their private life though they seemed quite close.
"First off, how about you introduce yourselves to Temari." Tenji said, more of a statement than a suggestion.
"Lets start with Tenya." He looked to the Hyuga who seemed annoyed.
"Tenya Hyuga, I only have two goals, to defeat Menma and to become the strongest shinobi. I can use my family techniques and dojutsu." He said simply, Tenji looks to Yuko and she starts.
"Yuko Mitarashi, I want to become a stronger ninja, I know some medical ninjutsu and taijutsu." Tenji nods and turns to Menma.
"Menma." Tenji says.
Menma stood before the his team, his eyes shining with determination. "As you know My name is Menma Uzumaki," he said, introducing himself.
"I have a unique ability to manipulate yin chakra, which allows me to create powerful shadow clones and use techniques that are not typically seen in normal ninja abilities. My chakra nature is Wind Release, which allows me to move quickly and strike with precision, I have created a deviation of the rasengan using wind release and my ability to manipulate yin chakra and I am capable of summoning." Menma explained.
"But more than that, my dream is to protect my village and those I love. I know what it's like to be an outsider and to face great adversity, but I won't let that stop me from achieving my goals," he continued, his voice firm and unwavering.
"I will work hard to become the strongest ninja I can be, and I will use my abilities to protect those who cannot protect themselves. That is my promise as a ninja," Menma said, his eyes blazing with conviction.
The group of ninja listened to Menma's words, impressed by his determination and strength of will. They knew that he was a force to be reckoned with, and they could sense that he was destined for great things.
"Who taught you the last two?" Tenji asked, his curiosity getting the best of him.
"Jiraya sensei taught my brother and I during the chunin exam month." He replied.
"I saw his brother use summoning against Gaara." Temari said
"....Can you show me the rasengan?" Tenji asked
"Sure." Menma replied, he stepped back and starts molding chakra in the palm of his hand.
"Why does it look like that?" Yuko asked
"Its because my yin chakra mixed with it forming a dark orb and the white rings around it." He said and walked over to a tree, he slams his hand into it and the tree as well as the ground around it shattered.
The trio were shocked at the sight, Temari even more so.
'I knew he was strong but not this strong.' She thought looking at the wreckage.
"Good, now its your turn Temari." Tenji says turning to Temari.
Temari took a deep breath and spoke."You already know my name, so I'll skip that. I like training, vegetable soup, roasted nuts and salads. I love my village despite certain events," she said stealing a quick glance at Menma. "My dream is to be the strongest kunoichi in the world."
"I am above average at taijutsu, and am proficient in using a fan, my jutsu are cutting whirlwind and the stronger version of the Great Cutting Wind Technique and Wind Release: Severing pressure." She finished.
"Can you only use wind natured chakra?" Tenji asked, Temari replied with a nod.
"I have affinity to water so my techniques aren't suitable for you." He informs crossing his arms.
"I understand." Temari replies.
"But that doesn't mean you won't be able to learn anything new.". Tenji says looking to Menma. "Menma can help you with that part since he can use wind type jutsu." Tenji finishes
Temari nods, grateful for the opportunity to learn from her new teammate. She had always been eager to improve her skills and become stronger, and having Menma as a mentor would certainly help her in that regard.
"Thank you, I appreciate it," Temari said with a smile.
"No problem, happy to help," Menma replied with a grin.
Tenji nodded, satisfied with the introductions and the display of skills. "Alright, let's get started on some basic training. We'll start with some taijutsu drills, then move on to some basic ninjutsu techniques. Temari, since you're new to the team, you can observe for now and learn from your teammates."
Temari nodded and watched as the team began their drills. She was impressed with their coordination and technique, and made mental notes of things she could work on in her own training. She was grateful for the chance to learn from such skilled teammates, and felt more and more at home with each passing moment.
As the team continued with their training, Tenji took the lead in demonstrating and instructing the team on various taijutsu techniques. He started with basic movements, such as footwork and stance, before moving on to strikes and kicks.
The other team members followed along, practicing each movement and technique with precision and focus. Temari watched intently, taking in every detail and analyzing the movements of her teammates. She was determined to improve her own skills and become a valuable member of the team.
After the taijutsu drills, Tenji introduced some basic ninjutsu techniques, starting with elemental jutsus. He explained the principles behind each element and demonstrated how to use them effectively in combat.
The team members practiced each jutsu repeatedly until they were able to perform them with ease. Temari struggled a bit at first, but with the guidance of her teammates and Tenji's patient instruction, she soon began to make progress.
As the sun began to set, Tenji called an end to the training session. "Great work, everyone. We'll pick up where we left off tomorrow. Temari, how do you feel about your first training session with the team?"
Temari smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "I feel great. Thank you for letting me observe and train with you all. I'm looking forward to learning more from you in the future."
"Good," he said, "you have a lot of potential. I can see that you're determined to improve and learn. Keep up the hard work, and you'll be an invaluable asset to the team."
Temari felt a surge of pride at his words and thanked him for the evaluation. She then spent the rest of the day with Menma and her family, feeling grateful for their warmth and hospitality.
As the day drew to a close, Temari reflected on her experience with the team and felt more confident and motivated than ever before.
