Hermione's hand was loosely hooked to Kasper's. He took her through, with all the people going about, back and forth. It was a lively and busy area. The loud musics, making it hard to hear other things except from the shrills and shouts of the children who ran around playing like they were being chased.
Seeing this, she smiled charmingly.
"Hi witch." The voice came from a small boy who had bumped into her while running to catch his friends.
Hermione looked down at him, she smiled at him. "Hi." She replied back.
"Are you really a real witch?" The boy asked.
"If that is what people say then…" She shrugged playfully to boy.
"Wow! That is so cool." The boy said in awe.
"Can you cast some spells, I will like to see, I will like to see." He jumped expectantly.
Hermione giggled, bending to the boys length she drew him closer and whispered in his ear. "I don't have my wand here with me, if not I will be burnt to death if I am caught." She gave him a pout as if sad.
"You have a magical wand too?" The little boy exclamied, surprised.
"Hush!" Hermione hushed him.
"You would not want others finding out, would you?" She cautioned in a playful manner.
The boy slowly nodded his head, looking around as if checking if anyone had eavesdropped on their conversation. He was so cute.
"Hurry along now, so your mama would not find you okay. Come on." Hermione told the boy, watching him leave to the direction of where his friends stood. When he turned back to look at her, she whispered. "Remember, hush…"
And the boy replied by bringing his finger to his lip also, telling her he gets it.
Hermione could not help but smile at their interaction. Atleast there were people who did not take her rumors to be a witch as a bad thing, even if they were children.
Today not much attention was on her, she was thankful, not as if she cared anyway. She knew they will be too busy enjoying their selves to notice her.
Kasper who had been listening to Hermione's chat with the little boy spoke with a smile. "Seems you are like magic to the kids."
Hermione giggled as she stood from where she crouched.
They continued their walk around. The evening breeze was so cold and relaxing, blowing right on her face, making her long blonde hair to sway with the wind.
"Will you like to go over there?" Kasper proposed, pointing over at a place where people were crowded. It looks like they were watching a play being performed.
She was not fond of crowds but she nodded anyway.
"Sure."
They both walked over to the play. It was a play tittled Romeo and Juliet. Her interest was piqued.
As the play went on, Hermione felt like she is the one in the play, like she could feel each and every emotions they had as if she was connected to them.
And when the play was over. "Hermione, Hermione. Are you alright?"
"Huh? Yes, yes…I am. I am alright." She assured him, but it was as though she said those words to assure herself instead. Everything felt too real. She shook her head, putting the thought behind her.
"Let's go get something to eat." She heard Kasper say before he stode forward, and she followed suit.
People were gathered at different stands, she looked around and everywhere was full. The sky had already started to darken into the night. Hermione frowned. She turned to Kasper in order to ask him a question, when a certain minister approached him.
"Look who we have here." The voice gained their attention. "It is the reputable Sir Aspen."
"Good evening, my lord." Kasper said, shaking hands with the man.
"Did not expect to see you here…and with a lady too." The man said casting his glance on Hermione.
"She is a friend my Lord." Kasper replied him.
"I see, I would have thought that the other ladies will get their fragile hearts broken."
Kasper only chuckled at his remarks.
Hermione knew that from the way the man looked at her, he already knew who she was. Afterall, is the anyone who did not know the rumoured witch of Avalon.
They started to talk things about politics which was a bore to Hermione. "Excuse me, I will be over there." She spoke up, gaining their attention.
"Oh I am sorry, for taking his time, lady." The man said.
"It is fine, my Lord, you should take your time." Hermione responded with a polite bow before stepping away.
"Do not go too far." She heard kasper's voice from behind and she turned to him to nod before walking away completely.
Hermione made sure not to go close to any stand today, remembering yesterday's incident. Her eyes immediately started wandering about the whole place. Where is he?
. . .
"Your Highness." Echoed a voice.
"Yes." A grunt escaped his throat.
"You have to stop leaving the castle unprotected." The voice added.
"Who said I was unprotected, I was with a witch." Came the Prince's voice.
"And she did not attempt to run her hand through your chest?" The voice asked sarcastically.
"She is a kind witch." The prince drawled.
"Can you be serious now, your highness. We have matters at hand." The voice sounded annoyed.
"Korden Winston. Are you the prince or I am?" The prince questioned, his contenance changing gravely.
"You are, your highness." Korden mellowed down seeing that he has somehow offended the prince. "But you do not take your safety serious, your highness." A stubborn one indeed.
"Are you underestimating our crown Prince's martial skills." Another voice said, coming from the entrance of the chamber.
"Shut it cesarean, you are one of his reasons for being reckless." Korden voiced out in frustration.
"What? Korden repeat what you just said, I am reckless?" The Crown Prince queried in disbelieve.
This caused a chuckle to erupt from the other man named cesarean. "A little birdie told me, that you are associating yourself with the rumoured witch of Avalon." Cesarean said, matter of factly.
"You sure are fast." Came the Prince's reply, accompanied by a smirkfull chuckle.
"Wait…I am lost. When you said you were with a witch, you actually meant it?" Korden could feel his forehead starting to ache.
"Do I ever lie?" He returned it with a question of his own as he raised one of his perfectly, arcly brow in question.
Korden inhaled deeply, hoping it will help him to not latch out completely at the stubborn Crown Prince. He exhaled, calming himself down. "So…? Is she really a witch?" Korden asked again.
"No she is not." He replied.
Korden blinked, did he not just say he never lies. Whatever, the most important thing now is that it is not a real witch.
Korden felt like this was the only good news the crown prince had ever given him. He felt like sighing out in relief.
"Your father, the king executed another plan, he has sent the hunters to the forest near the border connecting Avalon and westerly Isle." Cesarean informed.
"His obsession on eliminating the demons and witches race is surely going to be his end." Korden voiced out his thoughts which earned him a deathly glare from the prince.
Cesarean suddenly became serious, which he rarely did. "Your Highness, we need you to remain mission focused. I do not know about your plans concerning the rumoured witch, but I hope it is not something you will not be able to handle."
"You do not have to worry about that Cesar, I know when to stop and what my goal is." The Crown Prince replied with confidence.
"Is she in anyway connected to that goal?" Korden asked doubtfully, because sometimes, they can not understand what goes on in the Prince's mind.
"I am yet to find out." He replied with a smirk, and that mysterious face of his.
"We have to find her whereabout first before she find yours." Korden said, changing the topic.
"Rumours has it, that she is found in Etheria Myst, the black forest. But no one had ever made it out there alive." Cesarean said.
"Not even the demons?" Korden asked.
"Not even the demons." Replied, Cesarean
"This witches are getting more stronger than they can handle." Korden voiced.
"They do not get stronger, we just underestimate them." The Prince drawled.
Cesarean and Korden nodded at his statement.
It was quite true, the demons being the stronger race. They have always underestimated other races, because of their number one sin. Pride.
"Now if you will excuse me, I have someone to meet." The stubbornness detected from his tone was enough for korden to feel another ache in his head.
"What did I say about leaving unprotec…" Before his gritted speech could be completed, the Prince had already disappeared, leaving the royal seat empty.
Korden sighed out loud, this prince surely wants to end him in a more painful way than pulling his heart out.
Cesarean laughed hysterically, earning himself a hard glare from korden. The man was literally shooting daggers at him with his eyes, but he could not care less.
"I hate you, Cesar." Korden grumbled before also disappearing from sight.
