Malika's trembling hands clutched on the quilt as she pulled it up to her chest. She couldn't understand what triggered his bestial behaviour, she presumed it could be her blood or she affected him in an uncontrollable way.
The thought made a smile break through her lips, but then, her face turned glum as she reasoned deeper. If he found it hard to control his untamed demons, he would undoubtedly avoid her to prevent hurting her again, she had seen the reflection of guilt and horror flash across his eyes when his nails pierced into her delicate skin.
It was the first time she had seen him unveiling an emotion and it broke her heart to see his face etched with guilt because of her.
Speaking of which, she saw blood oozing from the puncture in her left wrist, it seemed deeper than she had thought. As if she suddenly felt it, she hissed in pain as she gathered her clothes in her arms and clambered out of the bed with the quilt wrapped around her chest.
