Rama still sat on the floor as she watched his retreating figure tread deeper into the forest. He probably expected her to follow behind, but this time, she chose freedom and death was the only way out, although her only regret would be leaving Malika behind with the night creatures.
But even though she was there, what could she possibly do for the girl? Her presence alone resulted to her being trapped in a dangerous situation so maybe her absence would make her life easier, hopefully.
She knew he wouldn't chase after her, it would hurt his pride and ego, to chase after a human lesser than him just to cause her torture and pain, so she stood up and moved stiffly toward a different route, away from where the seers lived and away from him.
She knew he was well aware of what was running through her mind at that instant and she suddenly felt relieved that he wasn't coming after her when she saw his figure disappearing into the darkness.
