'So he actually is here' Clay rubbed his chin while thinking, worried that Josh would get hurt.
'He should be confident in his strength if he has the guts to go outside, I think...' Clay was unsure of his own thoughts.
Meanwhile, Josh was still walking, when Josh was around the area where he fought the horned rabbit last time, Clay realized that he could see farther now since he was using the tier 2 map of the Adurep Kingdom which had a greater range of view compared to his tier 1 map of Cantor's Retreat.
Since Clay hadn't been outside the village his whole entire life, a country bumpkin of the sort, he was amazed to see a beautiful and bountiful forest outside his village, sure he had been near the gates sometimes, but he hadn't looked at what was outside the gates besides when it opened revealing only dirt roads, not a forest, probably because the forest was on another side of the village.
Clay focused in on the forest, literally pinching the screen to zoom in, faster than mentally thinking of walking to the forest. What Clay saw next however surprised, or scared the living crap out of him.
Inside the forest, hidden beneath the branches and leaves lies a monster. It was absolutely hideous, the beast was 2 meters tall, it had decaying hairy flesh that was peeling off every time it took a step, limbs were protruding where they shouldn't, and it walked on four 'legs', if you could call them legs that is, the 'legs' where just bundled up tentacles that were writhing if you looked closely. There was hair across its back just like a mane of a horse. It had a tail that looked like it was just balls of flesh connected from biggest to smallest, The head of the monster was a combination of the skull of a sheep and a wolf, basically like a lich's.
The abomination was slowly moving its way towards Josh, its eyeholes glued at Josh as it didn't have any visible eyes.
Then, it finally exited the forest, entering a plain area where the sun could shine without any obstacles.
Josh, who was seemingly unfazed at the creature that stood within 20 meters in front of him, suddenly got into a battle-ready stance, if you could even call it a stance. What Clay only saw was Josh placing his left foot one step forward and his left arm pointing at the monster.
Seconds passed which felt like an eternity to Clay who was thinking if he should teleport to where Josh is to help him escape if he faced any danger.
'Why am I even thinking whether to help Josh or not, it's obvious I have to help him, he's my friend' as Clay was about to press the teleport button something happened at the confrontation between man and beast.
The monster who was only walking till now suddenly raised the limb that was closest to Josh, as the four limbs weren't even evenly placed to balance its already unbalanced body.
The 'leg' that it had raised separated into smaller equally disgusting rotting appendages that extended and shot out to Josh rapidly, covering a distance of 20 meters in just seconds.
Josh on the other hand simply snapped his other hand that wasn't pointing at the monster.
Contrary to what Clay had expected the monster didn't explode into mist, this time, it looked like it was hit by a heavy object from its side, resulting in it tumbling over as it doesn't have proper footing to stay standing, the tentacles that were reaching out to Josh fumbled and got tangled with each other.
Josh didn't even twitch at the sight.
Before Clay could even think of anything, Josh snapped again. And again. And again... And again, until what remained of the corrupted monster was just pieces of still wriggling flesh that were strewn all around the Plainfield, some pieces of flesh were still falling from the sky, making it seem like a bloody rain, a scene that looked like it came directly straight from hell. Clay couldn't help but wince at the brutal sight, then Clay heard a mutter that came from Josh.
"I probably look so cool right now, snapping and all that while pointing at the monster and seemingly doing nothing" Josh chuckled, without knowing that someone was hearing and seeing this secret side of Josh.
Clay: ...
Clay face palmed himself.
'You just absolutely brutally butchered that poor monster' Clay thought as he suddenly wondered what it would feel like to be on the receiving end of Josh's attacks.
He shuddered, quickly dismissing the thought.
Clay watched as Josh still stayed there, curious as to what Josh's reaction would be when he teleported there Clay decided to meet up with him.
Clicking the teleport button with his finger still hovering above it ever since the battle started, Clay thought of ways he could surprise his friend before turning into light particles.
..
.
'One more monster to go before I level up' Josh thought as he looked at his system stats.

Josh felt proud seeing the system remarks, after all, what felt better than getting your ego stroked by a nonliving entity, anything, literally any compliment from an actual person would stroke a person's ego more rather than an emotionless machine, but Josh didn't feel that way, he thought that remarks from the system actually honestly depict how much he had grown.
While Josh was busy looking at his system and waiting for another monster to arrive, Clay on the other hand materialized in an area behind Josh, a one-minute walk forwards and he would be able to reach Josh.
Going over his plan again, Clay felt mischievous at the scheme he was planning towards the unsuspecting Josh.
"Hehe, I now know your embarrassing side Josh kekekekekke" Clay cackled in an unlikable way.

Somewhere on another planet, a mysterious man wearing all black walked out of an alleyway, what he saw around him amazed him to no end. Giant rectangular constructions were towering everywhere beautiful and eye-catching clothes were worn by everyone he passed by, and metallic creations that were carrying people within were seen on roads, just before getting distracted from his goal the man snapped back into focus. He was looking for something in this world, a place, something he hoped wasn't what he thought it was
