Chapter 6 - chapter 6: the aftermath

After the fight Vincent comes out and compliments Jake and Maya on their teamwork with all of the training they have been doing, and walks towards the boss of the bandits, he uses his gravity ability to increase the gravity of the bandit making him unable to move while shouting, " I WANT ANSWERS!!"

Vincent asks the bandit boss about the purpose of the attack and what they were after. The bandit boss spits at Vincent's feet and refuses to answer. Vincent, frustrated with the lack of cooperation, increases the gravity even more, causing the bandit to cry out in pain.

Maya steps in and tries to reason with Vincent, telling him that hurting the bandit won't get them the answers they need. Jake backs her up, saying that they should try a different approach.

Vincent reluctantly agrees, and releases the bandit. He then turns to Jake and Maya, and explains that the bandits were after a powerful artifact that the Levelers were keeping safe. The artifact was said to have the power to control the elements themselves, and Vincent feared what would happen if it fell into the wrong hands.

Jake and Maya are shocked by this revelation, and vow to do everything in their power to protect the artifact and stop the bandits from getting their hands on it.

Vincent nods in approval and tells them that they have earned his trust. He then hands them a map to the location of the artifact, and tells them that they must retrieve it before the bandits do. He warns them that the journey will be perilous and that they should be prepared for anything.

Jake and Maya thank Vincent for his guidance and promise to do their best. They leave the Levelers' warehouse and begin their journey towards the artifact, knowing that they will face many challenges along the way.

After the fight, Jake approached Vincent with a big smile on his face. "Hey, Vincent, I leveled up twice during that fight! I'm now level 4!" he exclaimed.

Vincent grinned back at Jake. "That's great news, Jake! You fought really well out there. It looks like all that training with Maya has really paid off."

Jake nodded, feeling a sense of pride at Vincent's praise. "Yeah, it definitely helped. And now I have 10 stat points to allocate! I'm not sure where to put them all."

Vincent chuckled. "Well, let's take a look at your stats and see where you might want to focus. With your ice ability, you might want to increase your intelligence to make your spells more powerful. Or you could focus on strength and endurance to make you a more formidable fighter in close combat."

Jake nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah, I definitely want to increase my intelligence. And maysome points in strength too, so I can use that ice sword technique you showed me."

Vincent nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a good plan. You two make a great team, and I can't wait to see what you'll be able to do with your newfound power."

After the fight, Jake and Maya began packing up their things to leave the warehouse. Jake couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment after their victory. He knew that the training had paid off and he was excited to see what other abilities he could unlock in the future.

Maya seemed to be feeling the same way, as she packed up her dual daggers and gave Jake a smile. "We make a pretty good team," she said.

Jake grinned back at her. "Yeah, we do. I'm glad we met each other."

As they finished packing up, Vincent walked over to them. "You two did a great job out there," he said, his tone serious. "I'm proud of you both."

Jake felt a surge of pride at the compliment. He had looked up to Vincent since he had joined the Levelers, and hearing his praise meant a lot.

Vincent continued, "But remember, there's still much to learn. You both have potential, but you need to keep working hard to unlock it."

Jake nodded in agreement. He knew that he couldn't rest on his laurels and that he had to keep pushing himself to get better.

As Vincent walked away, Jake turned to Maya. "I leveled up twice during the fight," he said, excitement creeping into his voice. "I'm now level 4 and have 10 stat points to allocate."

Maya's eyes widened in surprise. "That's amazing! You're progressing so quickly."

Jake shrugged modestly. "I guess I just have a knack for this stuff. But I still have a lot to learn."

Maya nodded in agreement. "Yeah, me too. But I'm excited to see what we can do together."

With that, they finished packing up and headed out of the warehouse, ready to continue their journey as Levelers.

Jake and Maya decide to set off early the next morning and try to get some sleep, but Jake is trying to figure out the best way to allocate his stat points

As Jake laid down on his bedroll, he couldn't help but think about how to allocate his newly earned stat points. He had 10 points to spend, and he wanted to make sure he made the most out of them.

He started to go through his options in his head. Should he focus on his strength to deal more damage in battles? Or should he invest in his agility to increase his mobility and dodge attacks more easily? He could also allocate some points to his intelligence to improve his spellcasting abilities.

Jake took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He knew he needed to make a decision soon as they were going to set off early in the morning. After a few moments of deep thought, he came up with a plan. He would allocate 4 points to strength, 3 points to endurance, and 3 points to intelligence.

With his plan in place, Jake felt satisfied and finally drifted off to sleep.

Jakes new stats:

Strength: 16

Endurance: 12

Dexterity: 7

Intelligence: 8
