Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Drew's P.O.V

Evanescence are touring again.Wow, are they still alive?!

Mayday Parade have a full magazine and t-shirt pack.

I keep scrolling mindlessly through my phone reading shit.

"Are you planning on redecorating our apartment without telling me?!" D.D walks in, throwing his jacket carelessly on the couch, next to where I'm sitting.

With the headache I'm sporting today, his loud voice is so very NOT welcome.

I raise my eyes from the phone, giving him a weird look. What the hell is he talking about?!

"My apartment! And to answer your question, no. What makes you think-"

"These guys!" He interrupts me, pointing at the front door where tall guy is standing with some papers in his hands. He has some kind of a work uniform on.

"And the truck downstairs." D.D continues, giving me a "duh" face, like what he's talking about is obvious, which is not.

I get up from the chair and walk to the guy.

"Hi! What can I help you with?"

"Sorry man, but we're here to deliver the furniture you requested. I know it's late and all, but…"

"What furniture?!" – I ask beyond confused. If this is a prank, D.D chose the wrong day. "I didn't request anything." I add and now the guy looks even more confused than me.

He hands me the papers and I look at the address.

Can people even read? I have a freaking number on my door and it's not the number on the paper.

I remain composed handing him the papers back.

"Sorry man, but this is the wrong apartment. The one you're looking for is below mine."

He nods apologetically and excuses himself. I close the door and turn to D.D who is now treating himself to my sandwich.

"I didn't know you had new neighbors." He manages to speak with his mouth full.

"That makes two of us." I walk to the table and take the less than half sandwich from him.

"This, was supposed to be my dinner." I stare at the remaining portion of my food.

"Come on princess, go put a shirt on and I'll treat you to a romantic dinner down at the T"Bell." He speaks, blowing me kisses and winking.

Rolling my eyes at him I go to my room to grab a shirt. When I return to the kitchen, I find D.D standing at the hall outside, hanging from the staircase with a smirk on his face.

"What?!" I raise a brow at him.

"Damn dude! You're one lucky motherfucker." He cat whistles.

I give him a weird look that means elaborate.

"Your new neighbor. She's hot! And I mean hot, hot!" He pretends to fan himself like he's about to faint.

"Too bad I've sworn off women." I respond in a monotone, humorless voice and close the door behind me.

"You, what?! That's not possible, 'cause you're – "

"Shut up man! My head is killing me." I finally snap, giving in to my shitty mood.

"Lame! Let's talk two beers later. You bet your ass you'll be in a better mood"

We take the elevator as a text pops on the screen of my phone. She's coming back. Great! Another news to make this day worse.

Waking up with a hangover and D.D's voice from the other side of my bedroom door is not the best experience. Let alone that he's blabbering bullshit about not angering the boys more, who already are pissed as hell with me. Why the fuck do they keep asking me to show up at the studio this early is beyond my comprehension.

I drag myself lazily up from the bed, open the door, push Damien away and walk into the bathroom to take a quick shower. My reflection is not exactly the sight I want to look at in the morning with the puffed eyes and all. The hot water scorches my skin and soothes the ache throughout my body. I just had two beers and I feel like I've been run over by a truck. Or maybe I lost count at two? Cause I surely don't remember how I got to bed last night.

Walking back to my room and putting on the first things I find I walk out the door, Damien in tow. As usual we're matching with black clothes and leather jackets. Once in the elevator we simultaneously turn around and start fixing our horrendous hair in the mirror. Suddenly the elevator stops at the floor below mine and the doors open. I take a glimpse of black hair behind my back.

"Oops! Sorry!" I say turning around and look into the big shiny hazel eyes of the stranger.

"Morning!" Greets D.D a little too happy for this unholy hour of the morning.

The woman with black raven hair doesn't move a muscle, as do I. She's a beauty, in all honesty, with the dark hair, pale skin and blood red lips. She's got this whole business sassy about her, but I can't help notice a hint of goth in the way she's dressed in all black but only a pair of red heels and red lips to contrast that, cause yeah, I'm a sucker like that. She looks like she's stepped out of my fantasy.

"Umm, are you coming in?!" I gather myself and break the awkward silence. I'm surprised D.D has remained calm all this time.

"Yeah, um, sorry! Still sleepy." she shakes the awe away and steps in. For a moment I thought she had recognized us, but nope, she's all chill and maybe just sleepy.

"I'm Damien. You must be the new neighbor."

"I am. Nice to meet you!" she nods at him politely.

I can't help but smile at how soothing her voice sounds. It feels like it stirs something within me.

"I'm Drew. I live in the apartment above yours." I introduce myself and she just nods again. It almost feels as she's shying away from us.

It's not all that abnormal since she just moved in and secondly, she's in an elevator with two leather clad, tattooed jerks.

I pretend to look at something on my phone and study her from the corner of my eye. There's something familiar about her. Or maybe my brain is really that fucked up and is mixing the countless times I've written about a black hair, pale skin and red lips woman.

Damn! Did I have to remind myself of her again? Every time it happens it takes me a couple of days to push her back in the past and pretend I never knew her. The elevator comes to a stop and the neighbor is quick to dash out of them.

"I didn't catch your name!" Damien calls after her.

She stops briefly and answers with the name that's gonna cost me a while to wipe from my mind again:

"Audrey!"
