Ely's eyes widened in disbelief when Daisy told Ely about Pearl's blind date.
Daisy put her hands on her hips and shouted, "go and get her back quickly. I want her to be my sister-in-law. She can't marry anyone else."
Ely had no idea why Pearl would go on a blind date.

Pearl had refused to see him for some reason this week, but he thought she just needed time to come to terms with the change. He thought he had Pearl, but Pearl was seeing other men.
He couldn't accept it. He had to ask for an answer.
He grabbed the car keys off the table and ran out.
