Pearl was so happy after Gwen gave birth to the twins that she shared the good news with all her friends at school.
Every day after school, she would rush out of class, get in her car, put on her seat belt, and say to the driver, "I'm going home to look after my mommy and Carl and Ava."
Carl and Eva are the names Pearl gave the newborn babies. She picked them out at the first glance of Ulric's long list of names.
"Carl, Eva. I like those two names." Pearl doesn't like complicated names.
"Okay," Ulric touched her head. "You're the big sister now. This is your first successful task: name your little brother and sister."
Pearl looked up with pride. She wanted to be a big sister. It would give her a sense of accomplishment.
Eva is an introverted, quiet girl. She became Pearl's little tail when she could walk, smiled shyly at Pearl's words, and seldom cried.
