Selene’s POV
It was a long, uncomfortable sleep.
One nightmare after another, I remember the painful things in the dream again. I knew I was dreaming, and I tried to wake up, but in vain, only to let the nightmare swallow me up.
"Your grace, wake up," a woman's voice called out to me.
"Ah..." I finally broke free from the nightmare, holding the quilt, gasping for breath.
"Your grace, you had a nightmare. But it's all right now." My maid wiped the sweat from my forehead with a handkerchief.
Your grace?
"No, don't call me that," I said. A title is like a chain that binds a person to a position he or she cannot leave.
