"How can she be the next chief witch when she's so thin?"
"Is she really the daughter of the witch Raven?"
"I hear she's married. Her husband is the new king, Nuri Rodriguez."
"Really?"
Everywhere I go these days, I hear young witches whispering.
I was a stranger and an intruder to them. Although I am Raven's daughter, I don’t have superpowers, haven’t taken classes with witches, cannot make prophecies, don’t know how to make magic potions. In their eyes, I do not deserve to be a witch.
I walked forward slowly. When they saw me, they scattered.
I can only smile bitterly.
After lying in bed for three days, I began to get out of the room to exercise. Dalena and Manolo took turns with me every day, explaining some magic to me and telling me the history of witches.
I gradually became familiar with the life here, and my body is also slowly recovering.
