Nuri’s POV
The first person I saw when I woke up was Wayde.
"Your Majesty, you're awake at last. How are you feeling?"
I frowned. I didn't like being treated like a patient. It made me feel weak.
"I'm fine." I sat up and got out of bed.
"Your Majesty, be careful!" Wayde grabbed my arm.
I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
I bowed my head. My chest was wrapped in a thick bandage, and there was blood on it.
I remember now. My Queen, my wife, Sibyl, stabbed me in the chest with a dagger at the coronation.
My chest heaved with anger and more blood flowed out.
"Call the doctor in," cried Wayde anxiously.
"No." I stopped him. The wound was not deep enough to threaten my life. I did not care about it. I could not wait to find out something more important.
