It's been a week since the incident. Travis hasn't shown himself since then. My brother has been helping the lunch ladies out. He's nicer than usual. Reznakov and Juco are still butting heads. Reznakov never had a problem with listening to Juco before so what's different now? Is it because of what happened last week?
Things are getting tense around here. Maybe it's time for me and my brother to leave. Speaking of my brother he walks right in my room.
"It's time for lunch." Baek says.
"Okay let's go." I say back. While walking towards the cafeteria Baek keeps inspecting my orbs.
" Aren't these supposed to protect you even if you personally don't know you're getting attacked." Baek says.
" Yeah they are an automatic defense. I also use them to create my guns." I say.
" So for them to be automatic they would have to sync up with you right." Baek says.
"Yeah they would. They synced up with me the day you came back." I say.
" Why does Reznakov have 10 more than you but Juco has 20 more?" Baek asks.
" They are supposed to represent how close you are to self peace and self acceptance." I say.
" So Juco is the closest?" Baek asks.
" Supposedly he has full self acceptance and inner peace." I say.
" So then he should have his Truth right." Baek says.
" I don't know. I don't think I've met anyone besides Joker with their truth. All I do know is that out of the 3 main ways we have to fight which is weapon arts, martial arts, and mana technique. He is only proficient in mana technique. " I say.
" I think he is hiding his power. When I shook his hand it didn't feel like he was someone with only mana technique." Baek says.
"Maybe he has a cardinal sin or his truth." I say.
"No he doesn't have a cardinal sin. I looked at him with my real eyes. Cardinal sin users can easily recognize each other." Baek says.
" You know you're the only person I know with a cardinal sin, has mastery over all 3 fighting types, and a branded weapon. " I say.
" Well I wanna be the best. Being the best fighter won't happen if I only have one way to fight." Baek says.
" You're strong too. You're the only known person to become pure mana and survive. Only you and the mana god can do that. You becoming pure mana means you have a deeper and more genuine connection with mana." Baek says.
" I wouldn't say I'm all that." I say humbly.
" You don't have to be so humble all the time. The weak can not save anyone. If you really want to save people then you have to be strong. That's how our world works." Baek says.
"Yeah that's true." I say.
" Anyways, did you do what I asked of you?" Baek asks.
" Yeah I did and you were right. The history books that Stitch gave us when we were younger. No one knows about those. It's like they don't exist. The earth that we are on and the past earth are the same place. However, something must have happened to completely transform it." I say.
" Yeah when I was traveling in the past. There was no mana on the past earth. At one point I got lost and ended up at a time period where there was mana. I think I know someone who can tell us what happened. " Baek says.
" Okay let me know when you talk to them. Also Baek, are you sure you're okay? You have eyebags and look exhausted. " I ask.
" Yeah I'm fine. " Baek says.
***Juco
"Everyone get ready. Tonight will be the time to show our strength. This is what Buddha wants. We need to be the strongest and show everyone that no matter what race, mythology, or pantheon. Buddha is the strongest god. Buddhism is the truest form of strength, peace, and love. " I say to the soldiers.
"What about Reznakov and his friends?" B bop asks.
" If they get in our way then just kill them. Tonight we will try getting them on our side though." I say.
***Reznakov
" Why do you and Juco keep arguing?" Rev asks.
" I don't like the way he's running things. He's like a whole different person." I say.
" Why was Juco chosen as the leader instead of you? Aren't you older?" Rev asks.
" I'm way older than Juco but he's been here longer than me. That's why he's achieved true peace. So of course he would be chosen. Him getting chosen isn't the problem. I'm happy for him. He's just weird." I say.
" How is he weird?" Rev asks.
" Haven't you noticed how empty the monastery is tonight? I don't know what it is but Juco is planning something." I say.
" Yeah now that you mention it. Where is everyone?" Rev ask.
" Juco is asking for you guys in the garden of life." Kaia and Laia say.
" Why?" I ask.
" I don't know but we plan on leaving and you guys should too. Rev we don't know where your brother is at." Kaia and Laia say.
" It's fine. He's always close by." Rev says. We all walk to where Juco is. It's way more than Juco, it's our whole monastery. Why is everyone here? Juco signals for us to come up where he is standing.
"Everyone, this man right here is one of the best and brightest among us!" Juco yells.
"Juco what is this? Why have you gathered everyone here?" I ask.
"This is a reckoning. For years we monks have lived peacefully. Recently we created squads to help the people around us. My squad personally has subjugated many bandits." Juco says.
The soldiers scream in uproar.
" However, that isn't enough anymore. Buddha is losing power. He doesn't have enough believers. As his believers and his soldiers we need to increase his strength!" Juco says.
"Juco, what are you talking about?" Rev asks.
" I told you guys we need to leave." Kaia and Laia say.
" From today onwards whether they are human, beast, elf, or demigod. No matter the race we will convert everyone to Buddhism. Willingly or unwillingly." Juco says.
