"Baek wake up we are finally at the monastery." I hear a voice say. I look up and it's my brother running out the ship. I grab my stuff and leave the ship too. The monastery is huge and beautiful. There are lots of buildings around. It's as if it was built with nature with how perfect it looks. That makes sense though since it was Buddha who built it.
There are some monks who are training. Others who are cooking or building things. This place looks like its own society. I can see why Rev likes it here so much. Oooo is that a red panda?
" Stop messing with the animals Baek and come over here. This is where the Viper squad resides." Rev says.
"That martial art is changquan right?" I ask.
" Yeah , how did you know?" Reznakov says.
" I mastered it a long time ago. I didn't think people still learnt it." I say.
" Well everyone here can use mana. However most of them only have the basic mana techniques everyone has. So they need martial arts to defend themselves." Reznakov says.
" So who's the best one here?" I ask.
" Well I personally don't participate in the rankings but technically it's Natsu however I think Rev is the best." Reznakov says.
"I don't know about the best," Rev says. Rev introduces me to Kaia and Laia. They seem nice. I didn't expect a piece of the mana god to be so human-like. I haven't met Juco as their team leader. Since he just got promoted to the leader.
"Where is Juco?" Reznakov asks.
" He's in a meeting with a family leader." Kaia says.
" Why he's just a team leader." Rev says.
" Actually he got promoted to the leadership position of the entire monastery. He answers directly to Buddha." Laia says. The way the twins talk is weird. It's like the closer they get the more their voices sync up.
"What happened to the old leader?" Reznakov asks.
" He had a heart attack. Then there was a vote and Juco got the most votes." Kaia and Laia say.
" I need to talk to Juco right now." Reznakov says to them. Reznakov turns to walk out but he's stopped by a kid.
"What do you want Natsu?" Reznakov asks. Woah Natsu was a kid but he's the best martial artist here. That's impressive.
"I heard Rev was back. I want a match with him." Natsu says.
" We don't have the time for that right now. Come on, we're leaving." Reznakov says.
"I'm not asking. I'm going to get my match." Natsu says.
" I'll have a match with him." I say.
" Who the hell are you?" Natsu says.
" Someone who is better." I say back.
" You don't have to entertain the kid." Rev says.
"It's fine whatever you guys have to say to Juco is none of my business anyways. " I say.
Natsu agrees to fight me instead of Rev. We all walk to where they have their duels at which just happens to be where Juco is. Reznakov goes to talk to him. Behind him I see the leader of the Kendrath family. I'll have to ask Joker about the information he found out about him.
" Supposedly he can copy moves by just seeing them." Rev says.
"There's nothing special about that. He'll lose no matter what." I say confidently. Rev walks to where Reznakov is sitting. They share a bucket of popcorn. I wish I had some.
" You sure you want to fight me? I don't want to hurt you." Natsu says.
" Don't worry you're just a punching bag that moves." I say to him.
" No mana allowed only martial arts. Now start." The referee says.
I'm not worried about his ability to copy my moves. Since he won't be able to copy mine anyways. He rushes in at me and throws 2 jabs then a low kick. That's kickboxing. I guess he's learned more than changquan. I dodge both then I go for a knee strike but he blocks it.
It still sends him up in the air though. So I just jump and kick him to the ground to stagger him. I could rush in there but I'm going to wait. I want to properly analyze his style.
***Rev
" Why won't he just finish it right there? Reznakov asks.
" When my brother fights. It's different when he's fighting to kill compared to when he's fighting to win." I say.
"How so?" Reznakov asks.
" When he's fighting to kill he's ruthless and has no hesitation. Only thing he thinks about is finishing his opponent." I say.
"Yeah I saw that in action once." Reznakov says.
" However, when he is fighting to win, he's a trickster. He'll purposely make you think you have a chance at winning. He is perfect in all forms of fighting though. Especially hand to hand combat. When he starts getting serious though he fights more dirty and violent. " I say.
" Yeah I saw that when you two fought." Reznakov says.
***Baek
" Did you think you were strong? Just because you can copy moves." I say to Natsu.
" If I wasn't strong then why do you continue to use only one move? It's because you're scared" Natsu says while swinging at me. I dodge it and hit him with a jab.
" I'm not scared. It's just that I only need my jab to beat you." I say while hitting him in quick succession.
" See, copying a move can only get you so far. You can't copy anything that you can't physically do. If you can't mentally understand it then you definitely can't copy it. Also just because you copy the move doesn't mean your body won't receive backlash or that it'll be as powerful as the original." I say.
I can tell he's getting madder. He's starting to go for wider swings. He's being reckless.
"I don't need a teacher." He says while throwing a roundhouse kick that blatantly misses. I didn't even need to dodge it.
" You clearly do. You see the weakness with copying moves is that you don't practice the moves you copy. " I say to him.
" Why would I practice them if I've already learned them?" Natsu says.
" Yeah I guess that is how a weakling would think. See the reason why copying isn't special is because martial arts can be broken down into simple movements. So anyone who is a master at just one martial art could easily copy another." I say to him.
***Rev
"How can he be dominating Natsu so easily with just a jab?" Reznakov asks.
" Well, think about the person the jab is coming from. My brother has 100% confidence in all his moves working. Natsu doesn't. If one of Natsu's moves doesn't work then Natsu will just switch to a different one. " I say.
"However, if one of Baek's moves doesn't work he'll just find a different way to use it." Reznakov says.
"Exactly. Plus my brother constantly practices all his moves. Can you say the same for Natsu who hasn't earned any of his." I ask.
***Baek
"How could I lose like this? This isn't fair!" Natsu yells.
" It's not that it isn't fair its just that you never had a chance at winning from the start. I was just born better than you." I say.
***Rev
"What a nasty personality." Reznakov says.
" Yeah my brother has a god complex. He truly believes that when it comes to fighting there isn't anyone he can't beat. In his head he's above everyone." I say.
" Do you believe that?" Reznakov asks.
"Of course. It is whack though I've never seen him truly fight in his best form." I say.
" I thought he fought in his best form against Joker?" Reznakov says.
" Nah he refuses to use this one style he has. It's when he lets his arms hang and starts swaying back and forth like a ghost. He says it isn't complete for some reason though." I say.
" You have seen him use it though, right?" Reznakov asks.
"Yeah it was when we killed Stitch." I say

After Rev says that an explosion happens. There's smoke everywhere I can't see. I force the smoke out my way and see the leader of the Kendrath family holding Rev up by his throat.
