This is an awkward situation. I never thought I would be having a one on one conversation with the monkey king. He keeps having me eat these weird looking apples. I've never seen them before.
" Ah I should've warned you since you're human I don't know if your body can handle the life fruits. If you can handle them then you'll become immortal like me. If you can't then you'll die." Of course he tells me that after I've eaten a bunch of them. I shouldn't have said I was hungry.
" So if you're really from the future. What am I doing during your time?" Wukong asks.
" My teacher told me that you had a legendary battle against Buddha but you lost. So Buddha trapped you under 3 mountains and you've been held hostage there ever since." I say to him, he doesn't look surprised.
" Yeah, it makes sense. That's unfortunate though I was really hoping to kill him. Okay when you go back to the future, break me out." Wukong says. The fu- is he ordering me around.
I grab him by his neck and say " yo I don't take orders." Wukong turns around and looks at me weird. Then punches me through another mountain. "I'm pretty sure you're damaging your home." I say in pain.
" Look here kid. You lost to me. Might make right around here, so unless you can beat me then you'll listen. Now what's your name?
" It's NoTe, my name is NoTe." I say to him, Wukong gives me a blank look.
" I didn't ask for an anagram, I asked for your name." Wukong says.
" What? I just told you my name." I say back.
" NoTe isn't a name. It's an anagram for a-" Wukong stops talking in the middle of his sentence.
" I'll tell you when you help my future self escape. However, until then I'll give you a new name. You'll go by Baek from now on."Wukong says to me. Is my name really an anagram? What could it possibly mean?
" Stop thinking about your new and old name and get up. I'll be sending you back soon but first I need to tell you about Buddha. He's dangerous and different from who he was before. He's been enslaving all the monsters around here. I want you to take them to the future with you." Wukong says to me.
" Why would I do that? You expect me to take all of them through my shadow." I say to him.
" Think about how many monsters have you seen on your earth. I doubt you've seen more than 50." Wukong says. He's right besides that tiger and a few monsters I saw in the slums. There's a huge lack of monsters.
" The monsters are my people. Help me help them. I'm sure you have your own issues against some of the other gods. I'll help you with those a long as you help me." Wukong seems to really want to help his people.
" Okay fine, I'll help anything else you need me to do?" I ask.
" Just get stronger Baek." Wukong says.
" What's wrong with my name NoTe. Why don't you like it?" I ask.
"Because you aren't a weapon you're a person. Now go meditate I barely sense any mana from you which isn't good." Wukong says. He's right about the mana though.
For the next few days I meditate and circulate as much mana as possible. While Wukong mostly told his people what his plan was. Sometimes he gave tips on circulating my mana better. I told the forgotten the plan as well. So that none of them try possesing any monsters.
" Yo Baek its time to go." Wukong says. I walk outside even though its night time its still bright because of all the stars. I start letting all the monsters fall through my shadows. Once I absorb the last one I get ready to leave but Wukong says something.
" Baek I can tell you love fighting. So just keep doing it and you'll keep getting stronger."
" I'll make sure to do that. Hopefully the future you isn't weak or I won't be following your orders anymore." I say back to him. I walk through the time chains. Legion is waiting patiently for me as always.
" Did you get lost NoTe?" Legion asks.
" No, I went right where I needed to go. Also I go by Baek now." I tell him.
" Will you be completing the last step in your training now Baek?" Legion asks.
"Yes I will. What is it that I have to do exactly?" I ask.
" First we need to make a sycthe for you. Then you need to learn reaper techniques. After that you can do whatever you want." Legion says.
Getting the sycthe made for me was easy. So was learning the reaper techniques. I also learned how to help souls pass on and travel through the underworld. I'm starting to understand the core of mana. Like what mana is as a whole. I've also been creating new mana technqiues and writing them down in a book. Since any mana technique can be created as long as you understand the concept behind it. I'm writing it down in a book though because I don't feel like memorizing them. I've pretty much done everything now. All I'm waiting for is my scythe then I am going back to earth. I feel like I'm forgetting some things though. Then I remembered that I needed to get bodies for the 4 horsemen. Of course at the perfect moment 4 demons walked past me.
I let the shadows tear apart the demons in my shadow. I don't know exactly how the body absorption works for them but it seems simple. As long as the shadow isn't weaker than the target than the shadow won't be absorbed only the target.
4 people leave my shadow. I've never seen them before but I sense familiarity with them.
"We present ourselves to the king." They say in synchronization. It still sounds weird when their voice becomes like that.
" Its good to finally meet the 4 horseman." I say to them.
