"I'm proud of you Rev. When I first met you all you did was start shaking when it was time to battle. Now you're comfortable enough to use your flames again. " Reznakov says.
" I was never shaking." I say to him. After reaching the Monastery, the twins congratulate me for using my flames. I am proud of myself. I didn't know if I could ever use my flames again. I've attained a new type of strength. One that doesn't invoke me killing.
" You've grown from that scared kid I met in that prison weeks ago. Maybe you should pay a visit to Kendra soon." Reznakov says
" Oh yeah I should. I didn't even think of that." I say to him.
" Cmon Rev ain't that your girl. You gotta do better if you want to keep her." Reznakov says.
" She's not my girl though" I say.
" Well you two aren't just friends that's for sure. I guess you guys haven't talked about that yet though. " Reznakov says.
" I can tell you like her though. You aren't good at hiding emotions. You're honest. Girls like honest keep it up." Reznakov says.
" Do you have a wife?" I ask.
" I had a wife. She is no longer here with us." He says.
" Oh my apologies for your loss." I say.
" No worries. It was a long time ago. I'm okay now " He says but he doesn't seem okay. It's the first time I've seen him without a smile.
"Hey how would you like to go with me when I meet Kendra and her dad." I say to him.
" Who's her dad?" He asks.
" Hephaestus." I say. He stares at me with a blank face for a second.
" Thats a good joke but for real who is her dad." He says.
" Hephaestus." I tell him again.
" So you're telling me. That you've been trying to get at Hephaestus daughter. The god of blacksmiths." Reznakov says.
" Yes me and my brother met him. He showed us how to get into the slums. " I say to him.
" You are one crazy ass kid you know that." Reznakov says to me.
" Yeah I've been told that. We got to start packing though. It takes a bit to get to Hephaestus so hurry up." I tell him.
*** Two days later.
" Rev it's good to see my future son in law." Hephaestus says.
" Don't say it like that you'll make him uncomfortable." Kendra says
" You lost the bet so you owe me lunch this time. " Reznakov says. Damn I guess he was right.
" Ah I know you. You're the very first family leader of the Borolin family. It's good to see you kid." Hephaestus says.
Its crazy that there is anyone old enough to call Reznakov a kid. Reznakov looks annoyed by getting called a kid. He's probably used to being the oldest in the room. This would be one of the few times he isn't.
After introducing everyone we all walk inside. Kendra goes to start cooking dinner.
" Rev you've finally used your flames again." Hephaestus says.
" How did you know?" I ask.
" I can see your mana fully flowing properly. Also you no longer have that barrier up. The one that rejected all the mana coming towards you. I'm proud of you. " Hephaestus says.
***Reznakov
I really didn't expect Rev to be this close to a god. They talk like they are just two regular people.
" Have you visited your brothers grave Rev?" Hephaestus asks.
" Nah, I haven't I will tomorrow." Rev says.
" Someone has destroyed it. The grave, the headstone, the empty coffin we buried. It was all destroyed erased." Hephaestus says.
I've never seen Rev's smile fade so fast. He immediately had nothing but aggression and hate on his face. His heart is beating so fast it sounds like drums to me.
" Who was it? " Rev asks. The room starts getting hotter.
"Rev it's okay. We think we know who it is." Kendra says while hugging him. He calms down fast.
" Who do you guys think it is?" I ask.
"The person who caused the mana fluctuation." Kendra says.
" So who is that?" Rev asks.
" We don't exactly know yet. What we do know is that they have a negative mana. Which means they're from the underworld." Hephaestus says
" It's Joker. It has to be Joker. " Rev says.
" Who's Joker?" I ask.
" It's the person who almost killed me. He succeeded in killing my brother. The last word I heard from him. Was the underworld." Rev says to me.
" Can you even go to and from the underworld like that?" I ask.
" It depends. The rulers of the underworld are Beezlebub, Lucifer, Asura, Hades, and 666. Depending on which area you end up in, will determine how easy it is to escape. Of course strength and intellect also factors in. "
" Don't you have to be dead though. To get into the underworld." I say.
" Usually you do but, there's loopholes for everything." Kendra says.
" Rev what will you do. If it is Joker?" I ask.
" I'll kill him. I'll get revenge for my brother. Wherever Joker goes. I'll go. " Rev is so pissed that he doesn't even noticed his beads just synchronized with him.
***Rev
If it really is Joker I'll kill him. No matter what. I won't let anyone stop me.
" Rev there's someone here." Hephaestus says.
" What? Who?" Kendra and Reznakov ask.
" I couldn't sense them until they were standing right in front of the door." Hephaestus says.
" How many people could sneak up that close on all of us like that?" Reznakov asks.
" Not a lot. Unless they are a god or a higher being of some kind. I don't think there is even 5 people in this world that could do that." I say.
" Rev do you know anyone with that level of stealth?" Kendra asks.
" No I don't- well. I did know someone but there's no way." I say. We all turn around from the sound of the front door. The person outside is opening it. As soon as I saw the person my mind went blank. There's no way. I mean I've always had the thought at the back of my head. However there it isn't possible to come back to life. I rejected it. I tried my hardest to reject it. I assume I was hallucinating but I wasn't.
The person standing in the front door was my brother. He was somehow back from the dead.
" Hey Rev, I told you I would be back. I hope you didn't wait too long." NoTe says.
